| The only thing he can do is if he's time can produce a decent pass, can't break a tackle,as no pace at all ,how can you say he's got attacking flair, to possess that youve got to be able to beat a man there's no way he can do that

| One of our biggest weapons over the last couple of seasons in my opinion was the amount of work running the ball quickly from acting halfback, primarily done by fox cockayne and mathers. This took a load of donkey work off our forwards making them more effective in attack.
With cockayne gone and if mathers is not playing no one is picking up this role and as a result we are not managing to get on the front foot.
As with all players there are strengths and weaknesses to his game.

Well we're all entitled to our opinion and how we see things and I respect yours.
That said, I think he has reasonable pace, can beat a man and his passing when in the line is good enough. I am yet to be convinced that Sammut is better than Mathers at fullback. Personally I would put RM at fullback and Sammut back to No.6 and stop messing about moving players from their best positions.

| Sammut back at 6 but what about Trying Siejka at 1 if Mathers is deemed off form? He's played there in Australia.
Wildie should then back up McShane at 9.

| asmadasa - why not try it still think I would put Mathers at centre as Lyne is ok going forward but don't look to feed his wing man or create space for him and his defence leaves a lot to be desired.Mathers would look to make space and feed his wing man if played centre and has a far better rugby brain than Lyne who for me is a sprinter who plays rugby as opposed to a rugby player who has speed to burn.

| Imo he is well past his sell by date as a SL PLAYER .The proof being no other club wanted him during our Fire Sale. Also if the releasing of Lee Smith enabled the club to sign the quality of Sammut and Scruton I wonder who we could replace him with .

I've just watched Mitch Achurch out-pace him to the line and Mathers had a 5 metre head start. I'd put Richie at fullback and that's only not to disrupt the halfbacks.

Totally agree. Godinet and Sammut the halfs. Stop messing around with Sykes. Mathers at fullback

Fair to say Richie doesn't have much pace these days but he still is probably the best option we have at fullback.

His whole demeanor throughout the match was nothing short of disgraceful. The only thing he did of any note was start a fight.

I agree, its not something I like to see players getting bagged but I hate to see anyone showing a sulking selfish attitude, these are professionals and are paid some highly to do a job

With Kirmond off the field I assume he was captain too. Compare and contrast. One man had to be dragged off the field, the other didn't want to be on it.

| Always called him a showman who tried to impress the fans throwing his arms about as if he was organising things,he certainly didn't fool me ,now supporters have cottened on to his antics and can't run the show, he's been seen in is true colours
