| Quote: jonh "We have to view this season in isolation and if we can bring in someone who improves our team in the short term then we need to do it in my opinion.
If we were sat mid table then I would totally agree use what we have and develop them, however we are in a dog fight for our SL existence this year.
We need to do anything we can to survive and if that means bringing in players who can help us do that then we need to do it.
It is a short term approach I agree and is far from ideal but it it one that beyond 2023 could have a massive benefit for Law, Windrow and any other junior players on the cusp of first team rugby.
Nsemba is s natural strike second row who I think could offer the ability to change a game off the bench in a way that others we currently have in the squad couldn’t.'"
But the 'short term' thing is the pertinent point? Take Hewitt, he did ok at Salford, so if he does 'ok' against HKR, then goes back, what was the actual point?! You are asking someone to come in and make a big difference to the team in 2 weeks?! If a loan player comes for a couple of months, and clearly makes a big difference then fair enough, but it's unfair expecting too much in such a short stay?

He allowed us to rest Proctor instead of playing him injured.

Rohan Smith won't help us. He's still bitter about his dad's time at the club.

2 weeks could and will easily roll over if it suits all parties. I’d say if we want him Hewitt will be with us as long as Huddersfield are happy for him to be here and we want him.
2 weeks is just the initial loan to see if it works out for both clubs and player and will be extended if it does.

| We are getting a little paranoid any problems we have are of our own making not outside influences or people with the surname Smith.
I am sure every club will feel the same and why should they release a player just returning from injury. It is our bad planning or luck we are in need of loan signings once again. The argument could be Leeds are paying the player and we chose to trim our squad to reduce costs therefore you live with your decisions and shouldn’t rely on others.
I know we are not alone using the loan market but we are definitely one of a small number. The other problem is that rather than having a squad who have trained for several months together capable of covering missing players we bring in two week loans whose knowledge of our game plan (I know) can at best be limited.

| I get the Forber signing...with Hood out and Kay playing at full back we're short. Just watched the Salford game earlier and thought Harry Bowes had a cracking game...first game back though returning from injury it's a big ask for him to do 80 minutes so him and Forber rotating at 9 I think will be a good thing...saves playing another player out of position as we look far better the more players we have playing in their correct positions.
The Hewitt one I don't get as much? Yes, we've a few backrowers out in Kelepi and Proctor but on paper was he the type of player who was gonna come in and make a massive difference in two games? If anything he cost us at Salford by switching off for Atkins try on the stroke of half time....the whole team defended exceptionally well but that one lapse in concentration proved costly...
Did he offer us any more than Dane Windrow could have done for a couple of game before Proctor is back? If I was Applegarth I'd leave him out Friday and pick our own players...if an on loan player can make such a crucial mistake and keep his spot what message will that send out to our lads?

Sorry but you are wrong, Brian Smith could see the direction Carter was taking the club and was in discussions with various people including others inside the club at the time for create some for of coup to oust Carter. Carter got wind of it and Brian Smith was sacked pretty much on the spot.

I've no doubt about that.
But I'm doubting Rohan is holding a grudge about it that means he has a problem with our club.

Get your facts right, B Smith wanted in to the club but was not willing to put any Cash in to the club .

Rohan's grudge isn't with the club, it's with Carter. But regardless of which side you're on, personally I'd side with Carter, there's definitely a grude there.

I’m not doubting the covert takeover plan but Brian Smith quit he wasn’t sacked!
