I imagine there are a few sensitive negotiations going on at the moment, so it can't be easy for the board to release much/any details at the moment, but the supporters are on a massive downer and they need some clarity as soon as possible.Perhaps after we get the Leeds match out of the way.

Quote: lampyboy "The clubs a shambles and if the present rumours are true the club must take full responsibility for the contract situation.
I have no idea if the club concider any of the present players involved as major key players, but if they do why wasn't contract extentions offered at the start of the season. I would also say that if you don't consider the captain of the club and major playmaker a key player somethings wrong.
Wakefield start every season on the back foot mainly because of the poor showing in the transfer market.
Batch I would imagine must be a money thing because HKR will not be much better than Trin providing Trinity can stay up.
A club with no ambition or any intention of improvements sends the wrong message to the players and fans, loyal players become frustrated resulting in wanting away.
Change in attitude and directions needed, but I'm willing to bet nothing will change
Just what are your intentions for the club Mr Carter.'"

Quote: Wildthing "Maybe the club is currently negotiating with players as replacements but don't have anything concrete to announce yet?
Have to give them some time, but the silence at the minute is rather deafening.'"

The problem atm, regarding incoming players, is that it is not easy convincing them to join us when there is the threat of relegation.
I think that the club should be 'cut some slack' with regard to incoming players.

All these 'rumours' about players leaving etc, my thoughts are that we wait until they are confirmed, there seems to be a lot of histrionics on this board atm. (what's new icon_smile.gif )

It sadly does look like free fall. We had a massive clear out several years ago and are still in Super League. The difference this time is the shocking P.R. No information of plans and zero to give any hope. Anyone would think it’s a calculated decision to drop to the Championship, sell up, and head off to the sun!!
PLEASE give us some news or an update Mr.C. And Mr. M.

Everyone knows that TJ has signed for Catalan and Miller has at Cas (replacement for Trueman who has also signed for Hull)
It's now obvious Batch is on the move.
I'm actually hearing that we are looking at Derrel opherts next season from Cas to replace TJ as he is out of contract and looks to be on his way out

Do Trinity need a replacement with Murphy, Kershaw, Lineham and Kay?

Quote: Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo "We're not though are we? We have been in Super League for over 20 years so many of our younger fans know no different than watching Trinity v the top teams. Fans of say Rochdale, Oldham, Whitehaven etc deserve far greater credit. Lets give the loyalty badge to anyone who's on here, or more importantly at the ground, next season if we get relegated.'"

It's a good point you make, everything's relative isn't it. So considering our 'success' over the last 60 years, then do we expect too much? Or, given the fact we've now been in the top flight since '99, and we've probably troubled the top 5 about 4 or 5 times, and reached no major final in those 23 years, are we where we are 'supposed' to be for a club of our size, and the financial infrastructure we have?! Also, it's about 3 years roughly since we went down to London, in 3rd place in the league, on the back of 2 seasons finishing 5th. Since then, basically freefall...... eusa_boohoo.gif

The club have enough cover for TJ.
Concentrate on a stand off.

Would have Derrel he'll be cheapish and would be a good squad player and he's a Wakey lad n fan and then it allows you to spend the rest on more pivotal positions,Kay could stay at hooker with Boyles and so on.

Plenty of options to look at , I’m sure Poching and his staff are all over the new recruitment ,but unfortunately don’t keep us informed until a deal is done ,much to the displeasure of some fans ,who’d still moan if they were getting hourly updates . Let the coach and staff do their job ,I’m sure all will be revealed when the time is right , and leave us to do our ,which is to support the team and club as best we can .

I'd hazard a guess that now the Super League T.V. gravy train has financially dropped dramatically, so the club's ability to offer decent salaries has done the same.

Getting people through the gates is the best way to increase revenue, but how do you expect people to rock-up when the only elation you're likely to achieve is avoiding relegation!

Every club in S.L. (barring Toulouse) have been to a major final in recent years,I've just turned sixty & the only time I've seen Wakey in a major final was forty odd years ago!

I suppose it's the old chicken and egg situation isn't it. Bradford did it under Peter Deakin, he transformed that club in a short space of time, crowds from around 4,000 up to 10,000, then as success on the field happened, they were getting over 20k for Leeds games etc. The switch to Summer was embraced by them better than everybody else. I know it all fell apart eventually, but it wasn't like they were one season wonders, they had almost 10 years of trophies. He was innovative, and took risks and it paid off, whether you liked what they did on match-days or not, it worked. I guess it helped having Odsal because it was so massive, even though it was run-down, he saw the potential. I believe he went to Saracens and transformed them too. I think we need to look at other sports, globally as well, see how American Football teams get 50, 60k attending with populations of 100k etc. We need to explore other avenues apart from the tried and trusted, as eventually we probably will run out of luck.....
