Quote: Khlav Kalash "Is this the fall out from the confiscated bottle thread or something entirely different? Personally I've never had a problem when watching the game but it is worrying to see a percentage of the small number of supporters who do give a stuff about the club start to walk away. The club can not afford to lose supporters and should be looking at reasons why they feel aggrieved and coming to an amicable solution to keep their custom.'"

Just like to add this
when I joined in 2007 Al was a well established moderator and helped maintained this site from mayhem, I've always found firm but fair and have on a few times been pulled over the coals by not keeping within rules,
one of several that started the walks to Huddersfield and fund raising over £100,000 for Brennan Rooney,
I missed the first walk through an injury but joined in on the second to Huddersfield, we did a few more one from Hudds to Wakey and Cas to wakey,
it brought a great deal of pride to a lowly club like ours showing that its not all about success,
when Leon Walker had passed away in the game in Wales is was discussed whether he was going to walk to Salford but we it was decided that that we could donate through the predictions league when I used to do it, this now leads me to one stand out thing that speaks volumes about the guy,
while it had been made through contacts to go meet Donna and Steve I was beginning to feel uptight at the thoughts of getting all so wrong on my own, when I mentioned this to Al he said don't worry I will come with you, I can tell you without him I would of been a trembling wreck, that evening when I got in that car I can tell you a shed a tear and the big man too looked rocked.
I stood with him at the game regular and been to loads of fund raising events for the squad builder having some great evenings out.
I can truly say that he and his family will be sadly missed if they decided not to come back to BV

| Quote: The Avenger "This is sad, Al personifies the Wakefield Trinity and has supported through thick and thin, it's ludicrous that a man so steeped in the red white and blue has felt so aggrieved that he's washed his hands of the club.
If this is down to some jobsworth thats spent a whole 5 minutes being employed at Belle Vue and thinks he has authority over stand up and respected fans like Al who has spent a lifetime going above and beyond the call, then I'm disgusted and it needs sorting out!
Al, if you're reading this I hope you'll reconsider, Wakefield Trinity is your club and everyone else is just passing through, Don't let them take it away from you.'"
I'd support this. I don't know the guy personally but what I do know is that he sent me a PM when I suggested easyfundraising.org for WTW, thanking me but also wanting to send some DVD's of old Trinity matches in the 1990s for my lads as a gesture as well. Tended to agree with 99% of his posts so he must know his rugby.
Hope it's temporary and he comes back to the forum. WTW is more than just about a club it's a culture....

| Such a shame and it was something I brought up about a month ago - a club like ours simply can't afford to alienate good fans from what already is a tiny supporter base. I'm not saying it's deliberate but the clubs PR and presentation skills are very poor at present.

Take a break Al and then decide what you want. I'm a casual fan now who picks his games and you know what I'm a happier guy (yes really). There is more to life than Trinity, it has it's place but maybe not such a big place. One thing though, the club is always the club no matter who's running it (usually badly ha ha).

| He asked for an apology for been thrown out for bringing a plastic bottle into the ground. The club have refused to apologise stating the stewards were doing there jobs properly. He questioned the statement the club gave that said fans were allowed to bring plastic bottles in. Basically the stewards can do what they want. Although I see the stewarding was relaxed last night. So 3 weeks of treating a number of fans like rubbish and it seems the club has back tracked on its security policy. I'm pretty sure Al will return if he gets an apology from the club. But I'm not holding my breath regarding the club actually bothering.

| I've never complained about the stewarding in the past but have witnesses two incidents recently, which show how petty and officious some of the stewards are. One involved a long standing supporter, who is, shall I say, vociferous - but all good humoured. he was approached by a number of stewards because he was deemed to be 'insulting'. Insulting who was not made clear but the stewards clearly wanted to make something of it. I firmly believe that if it was not for the intervention of other fans the situation would have escalated - as it was he received seemingly a friendly 'warning'
At last nights game a man was daring to lean on the wall at the pitchside, nobody within 3 feet of him and he was approached by a steward and made to move away.
Talk about petty - I suppose the stewards will say they were following orders . That may be the case but surely they have some discretion to apply common sense? Or is it that they have no common sense to apply?

I was stood next to this and thought it was very heavy handed, but I stood down that way the week after and said supporter was having good banter and a joke about the incident with the same security blokes.
I think they were overzealous at the time but most of them seem to be reasonable enough, you'll always get your odd pillock on a strange power trip but there's always one.

| I personally think the stewards need to get a grip inside the ground some of the disgraceful chanting that is allowed to take place needs sorting. The Wigan game for instance allowing Wigan fans to chant about Jimmy Saville was very tasteless, some of the songs by our own fans are very disrespectful. It's easy pickings stopping people on the way in but as I say stewarding need to improve in the ground especially with no segregation.
