NO!
You can't do that at Wakey (despite having huge success doing it in the past).
These days we can only succeed if we have no less than 22 world class props in the team. Make do and mend NEVER!
This prop phobia is now beyond tedious.
I suggest Raleigh shouldn't play prop because he's really a S/R as is Wilkes, whilst Kirmond should be nowhere near the pack because he's a winger etc etc - where does it end.
ABSOLUTELY NO WAY SHOULD THERE BE ANY CHANCE AT WAKEFIELD FOR YOUNG PLAYERS TO COME THROUGH OR OLDER ONES TO MOVE AND MASTER NEW POSITIONS - THE END.

| Seriously though Trout? Am I thinking of the wrong guy?
Young kid who played second row last year.
I really would champion his casue as I thought a lot of him but he should not be considered at prop.
Mariano, Ali and even Kirmond would be in the front row before him. He is great at his position. Lets leave him there.

Once again you have the vision of size in your head even though I question trout is bigger than Dickens . Dickens is a seasoned prop and was outstanding against Wigan and Cas in the cup I would have him anyday rather than Trout at prop. Trout needs to pick it up as he is know where near the team as a 2nd rower.

Very much disagree with that. He is very much in the team.
Clearly Agar thinks so too. I think we'll see a lot of him this year

| Just thought i'd comment as I actually agree with Vasty on this, very rare for me to do that so I thought I better post it as proof in case I doubt myself later on!

yes of course he could "play prop" but he would be ineffective in the prop role, as would several other names that people could pull out of a hat.
I'd rather someone a bit more seasoned like Aiton to play at prop, which just goes to show how ridiculous i consider the suggestion of Trout playing prop.

I don't think anyone is suggesting he is SL prop material at this moment, though he was a prop as a junior. However for a couple of games he could probably manage it though it would take it's toll if prolonged.
Remember, Nigel Bell ended his career as a prop and he started as a S/H o no players position is set in stone.

What a load of drivel even for you - pure comedy gold.
Have you ever noticed how spectacular you are at judging players wrongly.

obviously i agree with this and if KT becomes half the player Nigel was then we will all be happy. However the game has moved on significantly since then and i don't think you would see Nigel playing prop in the current game.

Get off your high horse.
Trout was a prop, can play prop but probably won't end up as one. Kyle Trout (born 1 March 1991 (age 21)) is a professional rugby league footballer, playing at club level for Stanley Rangers ARLFC, and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, as a Prop, or Loose forward/Lock. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Trout
If you're going to dismiss a player NGB4C style at least do your homework and bese your opinion on fact. I agree Trout will not be big enough to make Prop his career position, but for a game or two he's way more qualified than Kirmond who has never played prop or some of the other "ridiculous" suggestions
The suggestion is not that he should be a prop, it's the more subtle suggestion that he can cover a short term injury in that position - the same way Nigel Bell and others used to do and he as I've already stated was a S/H to start with.

| lol @ telling me to get off my high horse. Your horse is much higher than mine.
I base my opinion on watching Kyle play, not some extract from a wiki page.
I've not dismissed anyone, i just don't think Kyle should be first in line as a replacement prop and please don't compare my posts to that of NGB4C, its pretty insulting.

Fair enough on the last bit.
As I clearly state he is not a long or even medium term solution IMHO but he could cover where need, he has the knowledge and he's a tough kid.
I don't ride a horse I ride a donkey.
