The TV gantry studio would sit right above the side of the pitch - the camera angle for the touchline would be abysmal.'"
Dont think you're correct on that one..........

| The front of the studio/gantry is proposed to be almost level with the pitch perimeter. It means that the camera would be looking down at a terrible angle.
The drawings show this clearly.
I'm sure we had to have previous gantry drawings signed off by Sky, so maybe they have/haven't seen these plans.

It'll be similar to Headingley before the south stand reconstruction. Effectively it will be looking down on the wing but not a disaster. I don't think this is the permanent solution given all the talk over the designs for the West Stand, merely doing something now to make that stand more comfortable for spectators for the short term

Can anyone enlighten me as to what all the 'plastic' pipes sticking up in the trench are for?
There seems to be a lot of them!

I remember sitting in it, It was the last home game against Rochdale Hornets a 32-28 win with Lindsay Rotherforth scoring the winning try, I believe it secured promotion.

They're used a lot as spaces for fences or railings, so the concrete can be pourer and the barrier installed at a later date.
They could also be where the LED boards will be fixed in.

New toilets to replace the ones at the back of the stand.

I’d be surprised if the concrete were poured, I’d expect it to be pre-cast, but there may be a technical reason for doing it that way.

That would be nice but those pipes are next to the pitch, not very private.

The terracing is precast, the base/foundation will be insitu. You can see the steel mesh reinforcement at the bottom of the excavation by the side of the vertical twin wall pipes.

| Looking at the recent reports from various sources re the new planning application, and frankly I'm getting a bit tired of reading how Wakefield Council invested £8m into the new East Stand.
