Big risk if you have signed him, although should be for next season and think you could get him cheaper for the first year with Hull paying some of his salary.

Isn’t that TJ, Trueman, McMeekin and the lad from Hull all out for the rest of the season? Four new signings out?

But all ready for next year after having a good rest and hopefully full recovery. Johnstone could be fit for the playoffs.

Indeed, personally I'd rather he sits the rest of the season out regardless to allow a full recovery, as we did when the transfer to Catalans was announced 2 years ago.

If he’s signed it’s a degree of risk.

If he can be fit most of the season it will be a good signing.

He has had 2 x ACL and a few other leg injuries (Achilles) I think.

A calf strain apparently, not season ending according to his twitter hes hoping to get last few games.

Good, glad it’s nothing serious. If he signs I think he could be a very good signing.

He’s hoping to be back for play offs should they make it.

I’m more of a glass half empty sort of guy

A stuttering career so far ,never really hit those heights he was projected to do when he burst onto the scene , injuries have blighted and curtailed his once promising career up to press . Big risk for me taking a far from robust half ,albeit a skilled one on his day ,although Powell knows this and if willing to take the risk ,who am I to complain .

Definitely an element of risk. If he can get past the injuries then I definitely feel there’s a very good half there. Hopefully a pre season with a top back room staff will get him in a good place.

I remember having thoughts on Lomax at saints who earlier on in his career was very unlucky with injuries, there was a period where he went 4 or 5 seasons getting injury after injury and it just looked like he was destined to be a talent that would never fulfill his potential then out of nowhere he kicked on and now he's probably one of the most durable halfbacks in the game.

It's not a comparison at all, more how funny the game can be, it's probably down to bad luck than anything else. Trueman is quality, in fact when you consider how much time he's had to spend on the sidelines, in the development stages of his career, it's miraculous how good he looks in that role.

He has signed anyway apparently so fingers crossed he can stay fit.
