| Quote: FIL "Superb defensive effort from 1-17...we totally dominated them in that first half and Saints must be very relieved to have come away with the 2 points. Let's just hope we can put in a similar performance against Cas on Friday as it is finally time we broke their hoodoo over us
It was against a half hearted and massively weakened saints team,we will never get a better chance to beat them as we did today and we blew it !!

Massively weakened, last time I looked they had the same number of players as us ,and a few internationals in their ranks ,. Half hearted , saints don’t do half hearted , that’s why they lead the comp . You may well feel let down that we didn’t get steam rolled ,but we had a dig today against a very competitive saints team and just fell short ,and for that I’m immensely proud of the lads

14 of the team today beat Wigan and nilled Huddersfield with 2 men off.
Bet it kills you that we just played really well. No fun moaning about that is there.

I would say we had more players out than saints to be honest.i havent been today due to working so cant comment on game, what i will say its dissappointing to throw a decent lead away in those conditions, also hope jorge is ok i hear he took bad injury
But what i can say for deffo the saints players one was lees should look at NFL for the block for drop goal made worse by the fact they dropped the ball

Saints had Dodd, Hopoate, Makinson, Percival, Matautia and Knowles, all regulars when not injured or suspended. Saints played their worst performance of the season; the weather was the same for both sides. Ref equally bad for both sides. Fair play to Wakefield, a goal kicker would have been a winner.. They deserved to win in 80 minutes.

He's still right. We had more missing and you had Hurrel as a replacement so hardly a step down.

| Centre as a position is killing is. Poor read from the scrum by Gaskill and and a dropped ball from Croft were game changers and lead to the 2 tries.
So frustrating when on paper with everyone available it’s a fairly strong area.
Got to start Batch there moving forward.
We have plenty of middle forwards who can play 13 but the lack of quality at centre is killing us.

I'd be amazed if Taufua's injury is anything other than a broken arm. If so with 6 weeks left i'd guess thats his season done.

Hurrell on a cheap contract has been our buy of the season. But that doesn’t negate that we are missing 6 regulars, and with both Dodd and Hopoate out, we’re short in the spine. Bennison was second behind Welsby (who got the plaudits for the winning DG) in the Saints MoM vote on Twitter, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t miss Makinson etc. I don’t know who Wakefield were missing but I said from the offset it wasn’t going to be an easy game. My only disappointment is we didn’t get to see Pemberton, but Bell played his part.
Also to clear up the attitude thing - Saints whole first team had 3 days off following Huddersfield (Paasi mentioned it in his MoM interview vs Huddersfield). There were definitely some dropped balls and miscommunications as a result of that. That was Saints choice though and Wakefield can only play what was put in front of them on the day.
None of that takes away from a competitive performance from Wakefield, and as fans it should rightly be applauded. A draw on 80 minutes was a fair result for the performances on the day. Thems the rules unfortunately and its worked in our favour today.
One note of caution though. The Warrington fans were very pleased with their efforts against us as well, only losing by 2 and full of hope moving forwards. They then lost the next 5 I think. Put in that performance again and you’ll get some results, but actually putting that performance in again is the key.

Nah realistically we were missing 7 I’d say who would most likely be in the 17 today.
Jowitt, TJ, Tupou, Lyne, Hall, Pitts, Kay.
Was some effort considering we practically had a starting back line out and a few more. Saints have more quality in depth.
It was a cruel way to lose a game but a very enjoyable game.

We are by 1 point I think. Played 3 GP and come out with 2pts.
