| That was hard to listen to - the poor dog kept skulking off when I was yelling at the radio; he only re-emerged when we pulled away in the second half.
I was as disappointed as anyone to see the big lead slip away, but it's unreasonable to put that all on our players; Leigh were obviously cack in the first 20 and were always going to put some things right and have a say. I'd suggest that more credit is due to our players - who would have let that change in momentum stick for the whole game in the past - but they regrouped and put the game away fairly convincingly in the end.
Judging by some of the sour grapes tosh from some Leigh fans, we must have done something right.
Interesting to note the talk of Leigh adding some quality players before the M8's - I wonder how many of them joined Eddie in branding us cheats when we did that last year...?

Exactly what you did to us at yours. We dominated most of the opening 40. Then you put things right and totally dominated us for the entire second half, both offensively and defensively. I do not subscribe to the theory that we eased off for that second half. What happened then was, in my view, entirely down to Trinity.

Indeed.
Leigh fans were our fiercest critics at the time (when Brian Smith came in) and there was a feeding frenzy against our "rule breaking", which we clearly weren't. In fact, many clubs in both the middle 8's and Super 8's have "copied" that style, either to compete within the "new" part of the season or, to avoid ending up there.
The system is still bonkers though and the sooner that we admit that there simply aren't any other clubs worthy of SL (apart from KR and in a couple of years Toronto), we can all get on with enjoying our RL and plotting to beat The Aussie in a major competition.
Before the abolition of "Franchising", there were increased numbers of juniors coming through at all SL clubs and the game has started to go backwards.
Some clubs dont even have their own academy set up

For dangerous contact with Fifita's leg/legs?!

Weren't we all debating a 'chicken wing' tackle? Must have been a chicken leg tackle! (Obviously this was a separate incident.)

| Fifita was limping after the incident. Came over to the fans at the end of the game limping.

It was, back end of second half in front of away end sticks.

| Not a fan of all the sniping between ourselves on here or with Leigh fans. To be honest, I like Leigh and their ground and they are to commended for the way they fought against an unfair system of no promotion/ relegation and kept it together till it changed.
We got a lot of injuries. I was sat at our end and unless you had binoculars or Steve Austin's magic eye, you couldn't be sure what the cause was. I would need to watch the replays.
It was a fantastically entertaining game with some great tries. Leigh showed some mettle to fight back but so did we after basically chucking a winning position once. We had to do an Alf Ramsey at half time 'You've won it once, go out and win it again'. Fair play; I am delighted with where we are as a team to be honest but we really do need to address the weekly 20-30 minute implosion. Something psychological going on there!

Incident was right infront of us. Remarked on it as it happened.

Yep me too. Proper Cannonball that caused Fifita distress, a man with legs less than a meter in diameter would have been in real trouble!

| Acton was let off with the chicken-wing tackle because the camera couldn't prove he put pressure on and the officials didn't see it, but charged with a cannon-ball tackle later in the game.

Certain that hasn't stopped the MRP before.

Scott Moore and gouging springs to mind - none of the officials or cameras saw that but it didn't stop him copping a lengthy ban.

Thats what you get when you judge on the 'balance of probabilities'. It says more about the Disciplinary panels biases than it does about the actual incident. Are Fielden and Sculthorpe still passing judgement?
