Quote: homme vaste "He is banned, or he should be. I believe they changed the rules on some grade charges so instead of bans, players receive a fine instead, surely they can`t go back and retrospectively change the ban to a fine?!

Anyway, strong squad! Tanginoa in there, which when you look at the players that will naturally drop out from the wing/centre spots suggests that he may well be in the matchday 17.'"

Kelepi won't play.
He was injured and wasn't even considered for Hull and hasn't had any match time at all.
I'd be surprised - and slightly worried tbh if he was in the 17.

Quote: The Avenger "Then how do you justify Langi over Hall?

It’s only 18 months since Langi rejected us despite having signed a contract to play for Wakefield Trinity.
Hall on the other hand, in a team that was misfiring, was consistently excellent for us last year and performed so well even though he had only just arrived from Leeds and was just 20 years old. He’s a year older, now has his feet firmly under the table at Wakefield and has last years experience to draw on.'"

Langi was also very good last season, just with a different club. I wasn't keen on signing him after what he did, but he's here now and you can't deny his quality.

Sorry for the caps.

I don't particularly see the issue with playing Langi after what happened last year, nothing to do with his on field performance.

If he doesn't then it's either Langi in the pack or Eseh plays.

I haven`t factored the contract situation into my opinion, I don`t think the coach should either as what's the point in signing him? For me right now he is the better option for centre but I still think Hall is a great player with lots of potential to fill, wouldn`t be surprised or unhappy to see him play R1. Lots of tough calls to make.

That's been said quite a bit of the last couple of days but in honesty Mash sees the lads day in, day out. He's probably already cemented in his matchday squad, injury permitting obviously.

Quote: imwakefieldtillidie "Yes, it's definitely the professional, full time referees that need to develop their knowledge! Never understood how they can stand so close to the game yet get it so wrong when and fans can stand 100 yards away with a pint in their hand whilst talking to a few mates and get every decision right! It's so frustrating!'"

Ira incredibly frustrating and that’s why fans get upset sometimes.

Although possibly, those fans 100 yards away with a pint can't in fact see and don't know the rules as well as the ref.

For me based on form in pre season mostly….

I`d go;

Jowitt
Murphy
Hall
Lyne
Lineham
Gaskell
Lino
Atoni
Smith
Whitbread
Pitts
Ashurst
Proctor

Kay
Battye
Langi
Butler

Langi provides cover at centre, half back and loose forward.

Not denying his quality although I’d argue just how good he was for Catalans last season

If Linham shouldn’t replace Murphy then I can’t see how you justify Langi replacing Hall who was a big part of why Murphy played so well last year

I’d play Langi at 13

Commitment, motivation & desire to play for a club like Wakefield was lacking yet we aren’t judging him as harshly as Tom Linham!

Incidentally, I’d start Langi at 13 but I can’t at this juncture justify him replacing Hall

But they can see a picture right in front of them of a players foot clearly in touch when a try has just been awarded with the lineman stood half a metre away and the ref right in front of him, it`s probably these instances they think back to when at the match and see a decision go against the team and probably have little confidence in the fact that the officials are actually doing there job right.

I always remember one bloke behind me in stand been told to shut up by another fan at Warrington as he thought they had been given an extra tackle which led to them scoring and winning the game, I mean surely a ref knows how to keep count of a set of tackles? Turns out he didn`t.
