You don’t say
I was just using him to make the point for heavens sake, those mentioned are all too young imo. Though as I stated at least Jowitt is on the pitch for 80 mins which was my other point HTH.

| Matty Ashurst for Captain...good professional, he leads by example and is one of the first names on the team sheet.

| Captaincy isn’t for everyone and at times can and does affect players in different ways ,sometimes it lays heavy on them and other revel in the extra responsibilities.I’m not saying for one minute drop miller for his indiscretions, but if that time comes, Pitt’s stint as leader at London was none too shabby so for me would be an obvious choice. Or we could throw a curved ball and give big dave a go at leadership, it may just curb his gung-ho attitude and settle him down ,as on his day he’s unstoppable and a crowd favourite , but as we’ve all witnessed he has his demons as well, which are creeping into his game ..Only thinking out loud chaps

| We've gone off subject here so when I get chance I'll split the two topics, but for me the captain is the best leader. Not the best player. Or a local lad. Or the first picked.
I don't even mind if the leader is off the field for a little bit as long as there is a leadership group behind him.
Pitts for me. With Miller, Lyne and maybe Crowther from what other players say.
Not Dave.

No, I don't, do you ever check what you post and how it reads?
Anyway, I'm fine with your explanation, no need to ignite the war of the roses.

| The captaincy needs some serious though whomever gets it that’s for sure.
People seem to rate Pitts highly but for me Batchelor improved the right side immensely running great lines and more importantly there was marked improvement in the defence on the right when he took the mantle from an injured Pitts.
On form you’d have Tanginoa and Batchelor as starting second rowers but it looks like it will be Ashurst and Tanginoa.
Guess we will find out soon enough.

I don't think I put Ashurst in my top 2 second row any more.
Tanginoa and Batch have it though I thought when Pitts was fit he was good on the right.
Ashurst at his best is great but he took some time to get over his injury and I don't think he's there yet. Hopefully we'll see it again next season.

Tinny has got to be in that leadership group for me

I don’t disagree I was just going by squad numbers. Ashurst for me hasn’t shown anything other than been a solid second row for a while now. He has been quality for us but I can’t see him hitting that form of a few years ago again. He seems to have lost a yard of pace and instead of running those great lines he started bringing it back inside more central.
I agree the two best form SR are tanginoa and Batch. I honestly think Pitts is solid but that’s about it. Steady Eddie type player. Maybe less of a reflection on Pitts than Batchelor form but when Batchelor came in for Pitts he was running lines and making half breaks causing no end of problems. Defence seemed a lot stronger too.

Arona would probably be my shout for captain, as long as he was willing to do it. Leads by example and I don't recall ever coming away from a game thinking he'd given less than 100% - something that certainly cannot be said about everyone.

| Westerman for me, having had plenty of time to watch re runs on Trin tv what I did notice when Joe was on the field was the amount of talking and organising he was doing in the line, ok he’s not going to do 80 minutes but being a seasoned pro he has the experience and hopefully respect of others to be a leader.

That really surprises me.
He clearly has all the attributes you mention above but I've always thought of him as being a loose cannon off the field and not the one you want young players to follow.
If your opinion is otherwise then I would also say he deserves at least a role in the senior group.

Do it somewhere else please'"
No I won't, the forum is free for everyone to comment about the subject matter, people with lives been condemned unfairly is no small matter, but clearly you'll defend accusations and condemnation because you're unable or unwilling to look at the facts not the government lies.
If you don't like discussion of the topic subject, don't want a view that doesn't meet yours then simply state you'll stymie free speech, isn't that what your lot are about?
it's nothing to do with winding people up, it's opening people's eyes to the truth and defending those being accused/attacked. The government's own well hidden data tells you precisely what I've said, world leading scientists and researchers have sent their findings to WHO whom have accepted them because they've got nowhere to hide. WHO have even said lockdowns don't work and only lead to more harm, or is UNICEF and other charities lying when they say 130Million more people are in food poverty because of the reaction, are the cancer charities lying when they state tens of thousands more people will die from cancer with many tens of thousands more undiagnosed and will go through hell.
But people like you, the vast majority on here can only think one way, you're condemning players and have no clue as to whether they have an infection or not, and the likely scenario is they haven't and cannot pass on if they are because they are asymptomatic, or are you going to deny the science again regards that, even WHO have stated you cannot pass on a virus via aerosol method!
A positive test cannot infer infection, or are you going to argue against scientists around the world, if you don't know that suggest you look up the facts and actually listen to what Johnson, Hancock and PHE have said regards the massively high false positive rate.
Rather than wading in against people simply wanting to live their lives that presents no greater threat to anyone than if you are social distancing and wearing masks why not trouble yourself to look at the real unmolested science and data, or are you afraid to be wrong?
Clubs condemning players are cowards and typically clueless box tickers with no ability to even perform basic risk assessments using actual facts/data regards any potential threat. Masks are not even PPE according to the health and safety executive because they know full well that it's complete BS tokenism!
But whatever, keep slagging off players and others because you've no ability to understand what's actually happening and read some basic numbers/literature!
