If they can put another performance together like yesterday, then absolutely, but did Bill pick up a knock towards the end, as he was substituted ??

| Having watched the game back now i thought we did a lot of the basics right during the game, Good go forward quicker defence structure and escare been the little diamond in the middle, And i also thought KR wasn't as bad has their fans are making out yes a couple of silly errors passing across the line but all in all they came across a determined Wakey side which didn't give them any space.

I fins it difficult to wish that on anyone - a lot of people are going to lose their livelihood, which is a tough thing to take any pleasure in.

I've now watched the game and I thought it was a tale of two halves, cliche I know.
I actually thought we were poor in the first half and Escare had a mare mixed with a few good bits, under the high ball he is light years behind Jowitt and Hampshire. However not wanting to single him out the rest were not much better, same old issues for us, certainly in attack though the defence was no too bad. However as we failed to against Hull last week, HKR failed to capitalise on our mistakes and the possession and territory that went with them.
Second half we suddenly remembered we were a RL team of some quality and it showed. Very few mistakes in either defence or attack. We were direct, we supported the man with the ball but above all, we took every chance offered.
Massive improvement, but if we are to beat any of the remaining three teams we are yet to face we will need to play as we did in the second half for most if not all of the 80 minutes. It was a great effort, in fact, it was a massive effort and I applaud it, but we are still some way off our best, just my opinion.

The thing you don't get from TV is how strong the wind was.
We won it in that first half.
There was always going to be a difficulty with high ball but we managed and took it forward to the second half.

Same - and I can't help but factor in nerves as at least part of the reason for both teams poor performance in the first half; obviously we got past it and blew them away in the second, but the magnitude of that game and level of expectation can't have been lost on the players?

I think you are right, nerves played a big part in that first half for both teams, but I don`t think Hull KR ever shook those nerves off, they were just forcing play way too much throughout which led to a lot of errors which when you are coming up against a 92% completion rate is not giving yourself much of a chance at all.
One other thing I did pick up on, our players looked a lot more desperate when an opening come up and not in a bad way, Miller springs to mind in that first half, how he literally threw his body at the defence to get over the line - That is the Miller of old, which we haven't seen much of this season but was refreshing to see that.

I wasn't actually mentioning Escare but I was frustrated by that too.
However, the good thing was he didn't lose the ball by throwung a pass he wasn't capable of and put us in a great field position.
It was the same result as Brough kicking a 40-20 so although it was a lost opportunity, it wasn't a disaster.

Yes I agree about the desperation part.
We had 3-4 guys barking constantly. When Rovers were behind their post, no one was talking.

And they spent a lot of time behind their posts
I agree that we were too impatient, trying to score off too many plays, instead of consolidating field position and building pressure.
It all worked out in the end and we have some confidence to take forward into our remaining games.
Although it was "only" Rovers, I thought that our defensive effort was brilliant and that is THE big positive to take from the win, especially conceding 0 in the second half.
