I did it after Dale, cost me a small fortune and definitely not worth all the hassle, I remember one poster who is still around now under a different guise, he repeated a conversation I had in the flats bar on messenger, very creepy.

Can't help comparing John Pearman with Rodney Walker. Supposedly honourable men who, for unknown reasons, shat on the club.

Its usually the same posters who hearts are clearly in the right place who are getting rounded on far too quickly on this forum, people should be made to feel welcome and quite often aren't as there views don't suite the norm

It's all getting decidedly snowflakey around here; surely, if you have a view, and sufficient bottle to share it on a public forum, you should also expect that someone might challenge that view - which gives you the opportunity to defend, argue or tell them to do one?

In what other walk of life do people expect to express themselves in any way they choose, and for that to go completely unchallenged?! Maybe it's a symptom of the echo chamber in which many people now live - associate with people who agree with you, get fed your news and media by oligarchs and algorithms based on what they know you like and eventually, you lose the ability to engage with people who have a different viewpoint.

the problem is not when someone challenges your argument it is when someone questions your sanity with such comments as...if you believe that there must be something wrong with you etc..

It’s not just challenging an opinion though is it and that’s certainly not the responses that I was alluding to earlier in this thread. That’s fine and is what’s to be expected on a message board where debate is healthy.

There’s a perceived truth that’s propagated on the forum and maybe it’s correct, maybe it’s not but no one seems to be allowed to challenge it. If someone comes on here and goes against the grain on certain subjects they’re accused of being a Troll, a Cas fan, not being a true Trinity supporter, being negative all the time, having an agenda or having some personal axe to grind. once one goes in with a response there often follows a group pile on often with insults and or ridicule which cumulatively kills any form of response. repeat that accross a number of posts and it’s easy to see why some have stopped bothering with this forum.

The whole point of this forum a long time ago was that it was free from that kind of party line policing and pandering.
