I hope people remember real background to all of this.

Nah, they were used to rebuild the wall that fell down earlier this year!! You know the one the ground safety officer ( eusa_think.gif wonder who he works for??) conveniently allowed them to re-open their stand without even fixing it!!

Oh dear lord, let it go already. Your current situation is down to the number of people who have tried to turn your club around and dug you this hole - END OF...

Let the people who gloat enjoy it, but I have seen things bite you in the backside, so I am not one of them. The people who have taken over the club from Mr Wright have worked their butts off and we are seeing the rewards at the moment. Nothing to do with MP's or Councilors, has you lot keep suggesting.

I know being a Wakey fan is hard at the minute, but when we went down twice it was our fault and our fault alone.

Support your club, that's all you can do...

I wouldn't disagree with your first point - years of mis-management are responsible for the situation we find ourselves in.

I would also probably agree with your point about the current administrators of your club, in that they are working hard to deliver for your club.

What I would disagree with is your assessment that our 2 clubs situations and progress (or lack of it) regards stadia are nothing to do with our local council. We should be well on the way to the trigger point for our stadium at Newmarket were it not for some non-existing legal advice that the council claim to have taken when deciding to exclude the Newcold development from the s106 agreement.

I understand the support for 5 Towns Park and the jobs etc that it will bring, I just wish the same support was evident for the development at Newmarket and the jobs that were to be created there, along with a much needed community facility for the Wakefield District. Something which Wakefield is drastically lacking in, and could/would/should have been provided to the district at no cost to the taxpayer, if only there was the political will to back it.

I am not clued up enough to debate for and against if I am honest, but I suppose it was the lack of any solid foundation from York Court and the fact that the amount of empty units at Junction 31 and around that area, was always going to be difficult to sell/let. This has been done to death I know.

Yvette Cooper is our MP so she will fight for this and can't be blamed if the MP for Wakefield is not doing the same, and the added fact of what has happened with Kellingley Pit and now Ferrybridge Power Station, it made it easier to argue the fact that this was needed to secure jobs. Also this is a shopping park/country park, so was always going to be more appealing to the local area, than just a stadium with units around it (with respect).

It appears that Mr Carter is doing all he can and has had to make the 1st move with the BOI in regards to leaving Belle Vue. The die hard fans will still go but I see you sharing with Fev if nothing is sorted as that makes more sense.

I can only wish you the best of luck.

Come on now, surely this stadium stuff is over done now. Cas (my team) seem to be making good progress and wakefield although a bit behind seem to have a board in charge that are realistic and not like some others chasing the unachievable. A good finish to the season for both clubs and a focus on 2016.
Support your rugby club wakefield fans and trust those making off field to make decisions, it seems to me that your club is now moving forward.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

It is sad that some see this as a competition between the two clubs, which it is not, I guess they feel threatened.
However, on the points you make above:
It's true that Yorkcourt look like the bad guys, but they're a business, not a charity and act in their own self-interest and haven't done anything specifically outside the agreement. It was always going to be difficult to reach the trigger point for the stadium, but that has been made more difficult by the exclusion (by WMDC) of a large chunk of the site from this.

AFAIK the MPs for Wakefield are supportive of the development and have worked with the club since the election. The issue is with the representatives of the district, particularly its leader, who must not only represent the whole district fairly, but must be seen to do so. They have left themselves wide open to criticism on this point.

From what little I know about the Cas development it seems like a good thing, and we should wish you well with it. However, the proposed development at Newmarket was not just a stadium, it included much needed community sporting facilities, which could have been used by other sports clubs/ the general public.

Thank you for your best wishes.
