Contract terminated, clear your locker Terry and please dont let the door hit your backside on the way out. I was all for giving him the "benefit of the doubt" until the facts were know but its now clear he has cheated. Disappointing that his career has ended this way.

I hope the press will now let matters lie and leave the Club alone and let us get on with playing Rugby - unless of course they have an hidden agenda that leads them printing lies such as taking legal action against Terry and voting for a 12 Team Super League both of which have been denied by the Club.

Agreed, the lad make a mistake, a very costly one for which he will dearly pay. It's regretful and should send a message to other pro players that eventually you will get caught.

For me, he's apologised, held his hands up and admitted his mistake. That'll do for me, we all make mistakes and should pay the penalty for which he will.

It's a real shame but these things do happen. Let's move on and concentrate on our future

I'm just relieved he's owned up now and spared the club and his team mates any further embarrassment. He'll have plenty of time to reflect on what he's done, but as others have said, we need to draw a line under it and move on.

To be fair to Newton his statement is an honest acknowledgement for what he has done. I much prefer his courage in accepting fault than the tennis players and RU types who do drugs and throw lots of expensive lawyers and fancy excuses to cover up their wrong doing.

Whatever you may think of Newton he was a dedicated and hard working professional who reached the top in his RL career. Hopefully people will let him be.

Why should we be fair? Was he being fair trying to obtain an unfair advantage over his team mates and opponents.

True, but there's at least a little bit of honesty in there. He'll get a 2 year ban, and that'll be the end of his career. In the end, it's his decision to take whatever he took, and now he faces the consequences.

We, as a sport, should be proud we catch these people and do not sweep them under the carpet and glad that the RFL is paying for blood testing to show up these 'cheats' to reduce the number getting away with it.

He's was good on Radio Leeds as he was a player. He's a referee now, imagine Mr. Newton as the man in the middle.

he isn't the only 1. he has admitted it and is taking the punishment..he could have carried the uncertainty on for another 8 weeks but at least he has come forward and i think that is his career over. shame because i was looking forward to the rest of the season with him in our ranks.
