Its one of these places like Normanton that more than one club can call its own. He certainly refers to himself as a Wakefield lad. So I think my call was fair enough unless you want to lose Neil Fox?
When at yesterday's coffee morning Kirmo said he was a Sharlston lad.

didn't he live in that bungalow with the green curtains next to the one with the venetian blinds and red door?

| Quote: JINJER "In my opinion there's only one club that lays claim to Normy and that's Wakefield.
There's too many orange shirts in Normy on a Sunday afternoon.
Never used to be like that but since Cas had some success, the number has grown.
I'm sure they will all come "home" when Trinity finally manage to make it to a final though

Not having that Redscat I thought most doors had been kicked in at Snydale.

Not wanting to start a fight here, but I would associate Don and Peter Fox more with Featherstone than Wakefield, despite Don's fame coming as a Wakefield player at the end of his career. So, if Don and Peter are more Fev ......
I'll get mi coat ....

Personally I’d associate Peter with Wakefield or Hull Kr, having not played a game for Fev I don’t see why you’d tie him in with them.

Maybe so but I only mentioned Neil
As I say it’s a place that both clubs have dibs on and I don’t begrudge Fev their share. We get Neil and Jonny Parkin, I ca live with that

Wasn't Peter the coach for their 73 and 74 Wembley visits, with their win in 73?
PS: this is off-season bantz only. Neil is ours.

PS
Peter is most associated with Bradford.
And Neil himself says he nearly went to Featherstone. Can't remember whether that's from his book for from him himself.
Don had a long career at Fev but the few years he was at Wakefield were probably our most successful through 65 to 70. Two titles, one CC final and a close semi final the year after.

Well argued. He's ours, Don too, indisputably. Fev was merely a misspent youth for Don.

Everybody has a past. You can't blame him for that
I'm not old enough to see Don play but I was chatting at a function with Ian Brooke and when I asked him which players from their era would look good in the modern era he said he'd enjoy playing but said he'd have to bring Don with him. The others all agreed. They all said he was ahead of his time and could put them through a gap in the tightest defenses

Seem to remember it was in an interview/documentary and it was because he was left out of the Wakey Wembley team.
Around 1960 I watched all 3 local teams and Don at Fev with Mullaney were my fave half backs. Wonder how good they would be in the modern super league era with the firmer pitches.

I know buddy! Haha
Peter wasn’t born until 84 so he’d of done well to be coaching in 73/74
