| Always sad to see and read these posts.
True legend on the pitch, and gentleman off the pitch.
His playing days were before my time, but my Dad saw him play, and he also said he was the best player he ever saw.
RIP Harold

| I have lasting memories of seeing his five or six greyhounds taking him for a walk down Standbridge Lane on an evening. A very funny sight indeed.

I remember that interception. I was sat in the row next to Wigan fans - they all went deadly quiet! Great times, I wish they would return....

| Sad news. My Dad always used to stop him for a chat at Belle Vue and the Rotary Club legends nights, always had something humourous to say, a real character.

A dad to be really proud of, Dave.
Just after he signed for Wakefield back in the fifties, as a kid me and my mates used to see him cycling home from work along Ings Road. We used say "hya Harold" as he passed, and he always replied, Ey up, lads". It would make our day.

| Though his playing days were before my time I have had the pleasure of meeting him and he was an absolute gentleman.
My dad always talked about him as one of the greats and I'm sure he will go down in Wakefield history as a great but humble man.

Yes it was and even the north stand chanting his name was quite touching even if none of them actually ever saw him play.
