The young players are aware of Chester's fixation with older players regardless of their form and they ain't happy especially Tom Johnston, Leeds and hull plus one NRL team are sniffing around. Notice has been served.

It really will be a sad day at the club if we lose our young stars ,that will just put the icing on a lack lustre season .

So which older player is Tom having a problem with? MCB?
Leeds have 2 older wingers that may cause him a problem too.

What we need to do is sack Chester and bring in a coach that will pick a team from the players selected by the experts on here, it could work I suppose.

I didn't read it like that Poptart, I read it that Tom's not happy with Chester's fixation with older players not individual players.

I know this is said tongue in cheek Chissitt but which way do we turn here? If we blame the players for not putting a good shift in whose job is it to get the best out of them? Who's chopping and changing the team weekly? I'm generally not into bagging CC but it's getting a bit hairy now, every team below us appear to be on an upward spiral apart from Salford......And they gave us a kicking a few weeks since. I can't see a way out, the perfect scenario would be get JK back but that's pie in the sky, a win of course this Friday would settle the nerves a little as we have some hard games coming up.

There's nothing tongue in cheek about it, it seems Chester can't do right for doing wrong, choose who he plays at FB it's wrong, a lot of people wanted MCB in so he played him at somebody else's expense so then there's the outcry of dropping Johnstone that's assuming he isn't injured, same with the forwards, he can't play them all, except the people on here want's him to play their favourites all the time.

There will be things going on behind the scenes that we know nothing about, whether it be injuries or maybe attitude who knows, or maybe he knows that things aren't going to plan and he's trying to do something about it by changing thing around, that's what he gets paid for, and maybe if the armchair coaches on here had a bit more patience we just might be rewarded.

Another forum idiot who makes it up as they go along, utterly pathetic and the main reason why most people can no longer be bothered with this forum.

These are my thoughts too.
Comments made in hindsight are easy. If I could be bothered I would sort out the posts from people moaning one way and then switching the week after when it doesn't miraculously work.
The same people moan that they want to give youth a chance also moan that they want a settled team.
We base our view on watching 80 minutes rugby. Chester bases his on strategy for managing the players through the season and how he sees players perform in training. He talks to players and works through their flaws.
I'm pretty confident that CC does not pick his team to play his mates. And I'm sure he doesn't pick it based on the age of the player. He picks it based on which players are best placed to win the game, and the next game.

None of the players people want to swap in to the team have played significantly better than those already playing. Jowitt, MCB, Crowther, Batchelor and Annakin are all behind players that are better than they are at their peak.
Batchelor is the most likely of that bunch, and I'd happily play him in front of Kirmond right now when they are both at their best. I like what he has to offer but he hasn't set the world alight when given the chance so no one can say he is a guaranteed place or that Chester is keeping him out on purpose. Horo's best this year has been better. I'd like to see Chester find a way to get that style Horo with more consistency.

The only player who genuinely has a case for me is Hampshire. He was bought as back up so he was never going to start the season at scrum half. He possibly made mistakes against Leeds and we don't know what game plan was set for him so we don't know how Chester judged him. Most of us don't know what he does at training or why Chester preferred to see whether Finn could keep going. Clearly based on Finn's previous game management I should think Finn looks more likely to lead the team when in training.
Right now for me Finn has to step back and we go with Hampshire.........but he's equally under pressure to perform. We need an organiser and I fear he is more like Miller than Finn. He'll have to show one way or the other but I would like to see whether he can do it in more than one game. Finn hasn't played well enough to just get his place straight back after one game now.

Maybe so. But if that is the case Odd SB is suggesting that Tom knows more about coaching and team selection than Chester. I'm not sure that is any better.
