| Quote: upthecats "Think it's a crying shame Johnstone is missing out!
When you consider the amount of times we were second best when he was playing and he was regularly our only shining light! CC has now assembled a forward pack that rarely gets dominated and the free flowing stuff we are playing is allowing our backs to be seen at their best...can you imagine how good he would have been for this full season had he not got injured! May well have been the difference between another win or two!
MCB has been brilliant cover though having said that and the pace we have makes us threatening from anywhere...something I've not seen in all my years watching..'"
Unfortunately it shows how cruel sport is. Truth is the only person to suffer is poor old Tom who is my fave player ever if I'm honest. To the team it's been minimum, maybe if we'd had injuries to the other two but touch wood. Hate to say it but unlike last year TJ not playing hasn't really affected us - shows how far we have come I suppose.
Gutted for the lad but simply can't take it away from the other two lads.

| Bish and MCB are playing too well not to be in the side.
Now here is a thought, TJ started life as a fullback I believe. Lets say he could move into that role in the manner of hardaker. Then you would probably have the back three with the greatest pace n SL.

As someone who doesn't believe players are pre-cast for a certain roll and can't quite easily pick up another I agree. Of the three for me Tom is the one who has that little bit more in the locker and IMHO could adapt to almost any position from 1-6. That said you can't assume those two will stay fit to TJ will get his chance.
Also believe that Jowitt is a natural for S/O but it's hard to prove without an A Team to experiment with and assuming of course he;s interested.

| I have not being so exited for the future since 78/81 we have great pace out wide as we did then we have a decent pack
the missing links are a specialist 9 and a quality scrum half and maybe another 2nd row forward with pace

| Imagine in a couple years time...
Johnstone
BJB
Lyne
Tupou
MCB
Jowitt
Miller
And they all have more attributes than just speed...

We have one of the best specialist number 9s in the game he's called Kyle Wood - have you not spotted him? Or did you mean a second hooker??

Agree
Another specialist hooker to rotate with woody and a quality scrum half with a strong kicking game and I can't see who could stop us!
Agree on the back row but hopefully hasson will fill that roll for us

It will be interesting to see where CC plays Hasson as we have Hadley, Kirmond and Ashurst competing for the two second row spots....although Hasson may give something different at second row outwide at 6 foot 4 and 16 1/2 stone.
There again we have props possibly carrying injuries so he may be covering Anthony England's position...giving him chance for his Achilles problem to settle down.

That's a good call on England
I think we've got Hadley for one more match now?
It would be worth while resting England if that we're the case, let Hadley stay in the back row as he's being doing a great job and hasson prop
I wouldn't risk Kirmond either
When I last spoke to miller he said he was hoping to be back for sts and if not sts defo for the 8s
I can't wait to see us at full strength in the 8s !

| If Shudds can beat Hull on Friday night it will take a bit of pressure off Sundays game.

Wood is a great utility man vital to any squad he has covered hooker as Ellis did stand off a number of years ago specialist 9 sorry no.

If shudds beat Hull on Friday night there won't be any pressure, we will be guaranteed fourth spot and 4 home games.

| I totally disagree with the thought that the pressure is off if Huddersfield beat Hull...
I see this as a massive game and a huge opportunity for us to make a statement...we're playing well and have been great at home this season...we've quality players available for selection trying to dislodge players who are playing well...
Saints have a woeful away record this season of just one win from 10 games but they fancy this! Reading what their fans are saying they fancy this and think this will kickstart a push for the top four...basically it's a huge game for them...almost like a play off game feel...
If we can beat Saints it opens up a very healthy five point gap and will show that in a big game against a fancied side we can produce the goods...if we lose they move within a point and will get the away day monkey off their back and give them lot s of confidence going forward...
I've not looked forward to a game as much as this for ages...I believe in this team this year and can see us making a big statement on Sunday in what is a massive game in my eyes! Hope the fans turn up in big numbers...I can see a good following from Saints for this!

I agree with everything that you have posted " up the cats " apart from the Saints following bit, I think the attendance from the so called big clubs as been disappointing this season.

Exactly my point too. Includes a home tie with Cas. From a financial point of view Shudds beating Hull is a must.
