No, and actually I have proof because I actually (literally & physically) bumped into him just up from Holborn Circus the other year... so we have been seen together in public! True story!

When I spoke to York hall developers they said the ground is the 1st priority before anything. The residents at Methley who I have spoke to are not against the ground just the industrial stuff. So lets get the ground built and let them protest about the rest. The rest has nothing to do with us (wakey fans).

You spoke to the wrong people then. Yorkcourt developers are the ones planning this development, and no industrial units means no ground.

Don't be so naive - if there is no industrial development - there is no stadium!

That's a long way from what you were told - which in itself is correct - that if this all gets PP, the stadium comes first. That's how the contracts are written!

I suspect you know the details and are just trolling however, you can guarantee that if the development was going to be just the stadium you would still get the objections about the location, we saw this before the full details were revealed in the Express and at the www.idontwantanythingbuiltnearme.com website.

Completely agree with all of that. There's even the considerable likelihood that such intra-party spats have been sanctioned at national level... you know, show the local candidate to be his/her own man/woman, and when the results have been counted, we'll all go back to where we were. One party could profit by having 2 candidates with completely opposing ideas on this issue.

Taking the stadium out of the equation completely for one moment: If the developer is correct, and the site generates, say, 1,000 new jobs, that could mean something in the region of 10 million pounds per annum for the local economy in wages alone. There would either have to be very serious and insurmountable structural or ecological issues with the development, or you'd have to be as thick as pig to turn down such an investment with a depressed local economy and the national economy in the state it's in.

It doesn't mean to say you have to support the development at all costs. Objections are not necessarily a bad thing - they can fine-tune a development to meet everyone's needs, or highlight important issues that for one reason or another may have been overlooked - but if the objections are looked at and suitable measures put in place to address them, then there's little scope for further complaint, other than "well, I still don't like it!" icon_wink.gif

Did any of these residents have a problem with the Coal mine that used to be there with unsightly pit stacks and pit head and the rumblings of coal laden trucks that used to travel up and down the roads at all hours??? No they didnt because theyve all probably moved in after this and are quite happy with their semi rural lifestyle. you lot (a dozen of you) on newmarket lane get a grip, stop moaning and button it. as for you lot at methley probably mostly cas fans just because your plans for a stadium has hit the rocks stop trying to put the skids under ours!!!!

any chance we can have a poll of people who live in methley then we may be able to prove my theory that the area is "probably mostly cas fans". It didnt actually say that all cas fans live in Methley that would be absoloutely stupid!!! Its like saying that all Manchester United fans live in Manchester!!! well done bayern.

My god! Monty Python couldn't have done a better job of this script!

Give it a rest will ya - what will be will be and I'm certainly not going to be doing any crowing - before, during or after events happen.

This has to be one of the most tedious threads in the history of the forum! icon_evil.gif
