Lets hope kath H has a bit more business sense.'"

Let me see if I have got this right. We have a balance of 2.2m made up of 1.6m in director's loans. The RFL paid our tax bill of £200,000 with the money being repaid via our Sky money over a period of time. This leaves the £400,000 previously declared.
I am under the impression that the director's have agreed not to reclaim the money they have paid in.
So to the £400,000 I guess we can deduct the £70,000 from the quick sale of Smith and £50,000 from Amor leaving £280,000. I would think that we have by reducing both the admin and playing staffs salary bill plus other operational savings this will be reduced further. We do not owe the bank or HMRC therefore we are financially probably in a stronger position than most of the clubs in Super League, so why the panic statements and desire to signal that all players are available for sale. I am sure if I have got this wrong someone will tell me how and why.

The 400k was after the sale of Timmy, but I'm thinking along the same lines as you. I was expecting the situation to be far worse than it seems icon_wink.gif

Couldn't agree more. Think we have overplayed talking ourselves into a crisis. Let's get on with the game and keeping SL status. Letting other clubs nick our players not a good way forward!

I agree and have bought my season ticket and have been a member of the weekly draw for quite sometime but I need someone to explain to me why we are suppose to be in a worse position than any other club.

I don't think we are any different to the majority. We just like to beat ourselves up in public! They benefit from this - we don't . Buy the STs shirts and owt else and let's play SL. - not politics.

LOOKING FOR ACCOMMODATION IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA //www.orlandovilla.org.uk:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_22151.jpg

The Club has not overplayed the situation.

Tim Smith was sold to pay that months wage bill so that money has gone. After his sale we had £400,000 of immediate creditors screaming for their money who have not gone away and are still screaming. The £50,000 from the sale of Kyle Amor will have paid those off who have been screaming loudest.

The HMRC has been paid with a loan from the RFL who take their money back by deducting it from SKY monies due each month therefore the income we will receive from SKY every month will be reduced. That shortfall has still to be made up. Okay, the winding up order from HMRC has been dealt with but the money still has to be found so after the sale of Kyle Amor we have still to find £350,000 whichever way you look at it.

We are still in a hole and I don't want to go on like a broken record so keep on renewing those memberships, join Club 1873 and sign up to Foxy Bingo, the Club still desperately need the income.

I doubt we are at £350,000 or all the savings we have made account for nothing. All I ask is let's not overstate the problem you will find you sell more season tickets with an optimistic view rather than gloom and the sale of players who for the first time actually want to stay at the club. Why would a floating supporter think I will buy a season ticket because with all the bad news coming out it can only be a successful season. The die hards will of course buy regardless of the information coming from the club.

I am not party to the accounts of WTRLFC or any other club, the SL or anybody else, but I love your optimism, creative accountancy and general head in the sandness...it is typical of Sports clubs, sports fans, business people who get involved in sport and a very amusing way of sanitising a very bad position to be in.

Given your apparent knowledge of "nothing" you have strong opinions about everything and everybody. So you can say without challenge (or knowledge by your own admission) we are in a bad position.
This thread started to show a degree of positivity - might have known it couldn't last. Perhaps with your wisdom I should not have bought next years ST.

I am not using creative accounting i have by my assumptions on what was written following the meeting and if incorrect then please let the club enlighten me where I am wrong. I don't mean by a forum member who admits to knowing nothing so can not really add much to this line of enquiry. I am trying to point out that based on the figures provided we are not in the big financial mess that was initially indicated. I would suggest that unless my analysis is incorrect the vast majority of supporters will be relieved at the actual amount outstanding I.e. not the 2.2m indicated when you consider how this is made up.
I do not bury my head in the sand nor do I try to use made up words. I look at the facts available and form my conclusions from them. In this particular situation I believe the problems were badly put out in the public domain.

I suggest you contact MC and offer you're views to him on a one to one, that way maybe you can between you find a way of getting some upliftling good news out into the public domain.

I'm sure he would be willing to listen.

I do agree we need some positive news in any shape or form, i also understand why having secured the clubs future after all thats gone on is good news in itself.

The £350k is Creditors that need paying. The savings made will help us to be more sustainable going forward but that £350k still needs paying.

Having said that, the fact that a large percentage of the "debt" is Directors loans is good news (unless you're one of those Directors!) and as you say puts us in a similar situation to lots of clubs. The problem is, as I see it, that we don't have anyone who can put their hand any deeper into their pockets to pay those creditors, whereas other clubs do have people who are able to just add more funds when needed.
