| Alcohol and rugby players is a major problem at all clubs, sadly half the players are too thick to realise where the line is. Young men, first team rugby a bit of attention and they think they can get away with murder at times.
I was slightly suprised to see Danny Brough enjoying a beer at half 11 in the morning at the Stanley Rangers event the other week stood around the autogrph table. He may not have been breaking any rules but at some stage common sence has to come into play.
Its not just a problem at Trinity it is problem across the sport in the UK, nd i am talking about the lack of active brain cells some of these players have rather than simply alcohol, sadly i do not think there is anyway we can reslove this aspect.
Union clubs get a lot of stick in league circles for there "public school" mentality, but generlly bar a few exceptions the players are for more considered in there actions and when something does go amiss better at closing ranks and dealing with it in house.
You can chuck education at the lads in the pro systems all you like but my opinion by the this time it is too late, and it should be dealt with as a wider issue of society, but that is another debate.

Same as Mcoldrick, he has a beer. Don't see anything wrong with it. They work hard through the week so a few pints is no harm imo they do have a life outside rugby too you know.
Don't see why the need of a full drinking ban during the season. They are not allowed to drink so many days before a game which is fine and understandable.

not always , its common place for professional sports stars to be fined wages by their club whereas a machine op from linpac would off course be suspended on full pay

A drinking ban is not needed. As adults and professional athletes, they should be expected to adhere to club rules (if this means not drinking on official club business so be it) and respect their bodies (have a few pints by all means without hindering you're own performance).

Agreed, but just like anyone they should be alowed to go out and have good laugh can help team bonding too

Indeed but even then there is a limit. We all saw the consequences of the Westgate night out.

| However you look at it, Sculthorpe and Brough broke the rules. They have been punished and that should be the end of it. If one player doesn't want to accept the rules set to all then he should leave.
The grass isn't alway greener elsewhere and i'm sure Danny S will find that out soon enough.

That was only a few of players and others trying to calm it down, but they all took reasonability. It did shame the club, but least they have not made same mistake twice

| How do people know that the cans were hidden?
It does not say that in the Sun article and I understood that conjecture on here without fact to back it up is not allowed.
Is that a fact stated somewhere or just rumour?
Have Wakey Trinity advised this?
Not a wind up, genuine query. Unless fact you need to be careful as there could be a court case according to Danny S father

They always forget to put the facts in, often twist words to make it sounds much worse etc.
