I'm in no way a supporter of UKIP but reading the respective replies from Holmes and Dews...one looks like it's from an uninterested 12 year old that took two minutes, the other looks like a bit of time, thought and effort has gone into it...

Quote: Egg Banjo "Thank you for your email about the Wakefield Trinity situation. I am sure that it will be raised at the Council meeting next week and I agree with your thoughts on the provision of facilities for exercise.

As you say, this problem regarding the Wakefield Trinity ground originated some years ago, and as I was not a councillor then I can only go on what has been reported. Any information on property transactions is very difficult to obtain as Cabinet meetings concerning them are held in private and “Commercial confidentiality” prevents access.

I am aware of complaints made over the years on behalf of a resident’s group to the Council legal section, the Chief Executive, the MP, police, Ombudsman, Secretary of State and the press alleging sale by the Council of the Belle Vue ground at well below market price, and the ensuing issues. I do not see how I can make progress by repeating this, but will assist if anyone can provide ideas.

A couple of years ago I attended a meeting at the Belle Vue ground called by those who were trying to save the club, at which I offered to help as a councillor if they thought that there was any way in which pressure could be applied. I have heard nothing from them since.

On a recent current issue I have been able to have at least a temporary effect in stopping a dubious project, (at least until I am no longer a councillor), by chasing up what has gone on and airing uncomfortable facts in Council. The local press will not report it, the Local Government Ombudsman asked the Chief Executive pertinent questions, but then decided that she didn’t need the answers and has done nothing, the police fraud department won’t act without a ruling by the Secretary of State, and he ruled in favour of WMDC in spite of the evidence. Another appeal to the Ombudsman is in progress.

Even with clear evidence and lying recorded at a videoed Cabinet meeting, it seems impossible to make any progress, so unless the new Ombudsman is willing to re-open this and other historic cases, I do not hold out a lot of hope for the new Wakefield Trinity ground at Newmarket I am afraid, but I will help if I can.

Regards,

David Dews.'"

This is an in - which will embarrass and annoy Mr Box.

MC and the Trust need to get in touch with Mr Dews asap I'd suggest.

Had a response from Kevin Swift;
[iI'm going to discuss your email with my two ward colleagues. As you may know a lot of people are sending similar emails to their councillors.

Just for clarification, which was the newspaper where the article appeared yesterday ?

Best Regards

Kevin Swift[/i

My Response;
[iThanks for your response, it does appear that people in Wakefield are finally seeking some sort of justice.

I know for a fact we will not let this matter rest until fully resolved.

I live in the Leeds area sadly, I may contact the Govt. But what I would be interested in from the council or at least the Councillors to ask is for a record and minutes of all meetings between the Council, Trust and York Court after all we are talking millions of pounds here, green belt land which is emotive in itself and clear auditable processes that should stand up to scrutiny, I believe the council are the lead on this so should have records. I know it has been said that minutes were not kept if thats the case its scandalous that the Authority in Wakefield can negotiate issues such as those outlined with no chance of proper scrutiny.

Think Prince Buster, Sandal, Vasty, FA and TCB are the men to come up with the questions to be asked. That said Vasty, FA and TCB are hard at work creating wealth for the country so the likes of PB and Sandal can enjoy their early retirement.

Quote: WF Rhino "Does anyone have the email addresses of the best councillors to contact regarding the stadium? Tried to find my local one using the wakefield.gov website but the councillor database is mysteriously down...'"

I used website last night and it was fine. Either crashed due to over use for mysteriously disappeared.

As I remember at a meeting sometime ago for fans re Newmarket it was reoorted that we had requested minutes of some meetings. We were advised it wasn't in the publics interest to release these!

I bet Sandal Cat wishes he could enjoy his retirement Belly. If we can sort this mess out he can settle back and just enjoy watching the rugby.

Whilst we are at it can I ask Sandal, TRB, Vasty, IA and Prince Buster if we should be contacting Rodders as he was Chairman of the trust when Newcold was agreed, it happened on his watch, dis he know what was happening, did he take minutes during his meetings with Box and Developer. Should the Newspapers be pointed in his direction. We know he was very close with the deputy Leader of the council I have forgotten her name. Just exactly what went on at these meetings, were any of the other members of the Trust present. I think the Star and Independent should be investigating this aspect as well.

I've had a phonecall from my local labour councillor (the other 2 are both Torries) he tells me that mr box is preparing to make a full statement in the next 7 days and he was told to tow the party line of telling anyone's that contacted him to forward emails/correspondence on and not to reply individually and to state that mr box will address the issues.

I have written to all 3 of my ward councillors and also MP and SOS office, hopefully this is all gathering momentum, it's certainly buzzing on Twitter and Facebook icon_thumb.gif
