Two i've heard that could be available are Lee Smith & Richie Mathers? Either of these?

Would not mind either of the above to be honest. Both would be an improvement on what we have seen this season. And can cover other positions.

Would rather have Lee Smith than Mathers. I have never rated Mathers and I never will.

Mathers is a strange player, on a good day he can play a bit but more often then not he's prone to giving away pens and losing the plot.

Seems a little odd if we are in for him.

Won't be happy with Mathers, not impressed with Cockayne either.

Smith hasn't been the same player since coming back from RU. If he could get his form & fitness back he'd be a good signing. Mathers goes from the sublime to the ridiculous week to week, never particularly rated him. I'd prefer Tongia.

But which players do people think we are realistically in for? Smith or Mathers would be an upgrade on this years squad. That will do for me. We can sign Slater next year!

Cameron Phelps is without a club. Better fullback than Mathers and plays accross the threequarters better than him.

Agreed but we need to be careful not to sign too many overseas players i think. Smith or Mathers would do ok here i reckon.

I used to hate Mathers but I can't knock the player he's becoming, I think he could be outstanding. He'll get the ladies down at BV too. Bit of Beckham at Belle Vue, wholesome good looks and a squeaky voice.
