It appears that personal taste is no longer taken into account by some people on this forum. Very sad indeed.

Taste! What has taste ever had to do with replica shirts.

What people need to remember is the the shirts have two purposes. One to replicate what the players were and thus show visual support from the fans who wear them. Two, it's a way of giving money to the club in a way that offers you something at least tangible whilst relieving you of a lot of cash. Of course the shirts are over priced they are meant to be, that's the whole point. You want VFM go to Matalan, just remember though they don't give a penny to the club, ditto Saville Row if you want taste and quality.

Get a grip folks. If you don't like the shirt don't buy them but remember not to moan when we can't afford X,Y and Z player - because that is the reality of the situation and the collar style or length of band won't really matter.

I'm sure the club has done the best to get the balance between quality and profit right. I'm sure if we had 50,0000 fans we'd have a kit by Addidas but we don't.

Wow, i never stated that i a) don't like the kit and b) wouldn't be buying one. As for personal taste, it has everything to do with it. If someone doesn't like something slagging them off on a public forum isn't going to change that. I agree that some of the post's regarding the quality of the shirt are a bit out of order, but as for people getting slated because they don't like the design, that is well and truly out of order, just like your reaction.

No it doesn't. By definition anything manufactured to be worn by a a 1000 or so completely different people cannot be expected to meet any ones personal taste. If you want a shirt to show your support for the club just buy it, if you don't then don't.

What if you have bought it, but don't particularly like it - what then? I just don't know what to do......

May I suggest some sort of jumper, or maybe a jacket?

Thats like any product out in the public market. For instance i can't stand Guiness but thousands of people adore the stuff - personal taste. I see people wearing stuff that i would never wear and vice versa - personal taste. I drive a car that i know lots of people don't like but i love it - personal taste. The list goes on.

Not having a go mate but do you support Guiness, is it in your best interests to buy a pint or two, no I reckon it won't be. I know you've said that you'd be buying one so this isn't really directed at you but there's been so may shirts over the years that have been poor but you just buy them because there your teams colors and shirt and it helps the club buy the players. Lets be honest rugby shirts aren't exactly the best looking clothing item around to start with.

And i totally agree with those sentiments. What i don't agree with is people being slated for merely stating that they aren't their cup of tea. So far it's cost me around £2k to watch Wakefield next year and i haven't been into the clubshop or booked for Catalans yet! So i don't need people telling me to support the team and just buy a shirt for the sake of it. People need to remeber the current financial climate and that it is the run up to christmas. A hard time i'm sure for plenty on here.

I think we need to all chill out a little because it is getting beyond a joke. Like many people have said, the club have listened to the majority and produced a shirt that supply's the demand. The club should be applauded for this. However. some people like myself won't be buying the shirt because they don't like it. Why is this a problem?

Ry21 sums it up perfectly, it's preference. Just because someone chooses not to buy this years shirt doesn't mean they are not true supporters or think anything less of the club. As it happens I am pretty much certain that those people who don't buy the shirt will buy another item from the current Wakefield range of clothing and apparel.

I think people get very very defensive on this forum because we often have to defend our corner from opposition. We need to remember that are all in the same corner, and together we are really stronger!
