| All fans can ask for. Nothing was left out there. Walker stepped up, Wood is a beast, hitting well above his size, and as has been said LMS went straight through where he would've been had he not gone off. Hampshire kicked well.
Saints had to be off their game for Trinity to have a sniff and ti be fair the intensity of the defence in the first 25 minutes probably contributed to that.
Glad they stuck at it in the second, particularly when Saints started pulling away, and Ashurst, who looked something like his old self, was unfortunate to not get over the first time.
My only complaint is that our defensive line after that period in the first half seemed to stand back way too much allowing Saints the field position to get back into the game.

Not sure if Tangata & Bailey didn’t bump each other off the tackle on LMS, if so it was unfortunate!
Great effort from the players, Wood was outstanding in defence, Croft looked much better in his more familiar Left Centre position, Hampshire’s kicking game kept turning Sts around and forcing them to start from deep. Westerman stood up well, Tanginoa constantly brought 3 or 4 defenders in but still made good ground and the rest had a go!

| So what does that performance tell you where the problems are, with the coaches or the players?? Last week good prep, same 17 picked from the week before and a crap performance, this week our so called better players ruled out, lot of disruption, yet we play like that?! I've said on here before that Chester has too many options and it's messing with his head, what the hell is our best 17?!!

If I was short sighted I could become a referee!: |
|
| Certainly didn't miss Gigot. I though he was a good signing but I didn't realise he is a leaky hole in defence

Thought Walker looked much more comfortable and confident tonight and didn't put a foot wrong but didn't see much of Max as Rocky was running the show.

| Effort first class can't ask for more than that - tackle well, run hard, play to your strengths, you'll always have a chance. What gets me is, against Wigan twice and St Helens we've matched them and had a pretty good game plan serving up 3 great performances with a team missing quite a few regulars. In other games against 'lesser' opposition we've looked clueless, leaking tries and generally looked poor. If we keep this level of effort up we will surely get a win or two soon but credit where credit's due, well done for tonight.

Then it's an attitude thing then is it not??

Before we get too carried away with the better attitude and increased effort!
We fell away in the last 12 minutes of the 1st half and again in the last 15 minutes of the 2nd, that suggests a lack of fitness especially in the 1st where we had more ball and made less tackles.
If we had better structures and attacking shape to go along with the effort we just might start winning the tight games by scoring when we’re on top. We’ve put in the odd performance like this during the restarted season most notably against Wigan twice, let’s hope we can back it up next game!
