| Quote: upthecats "Don't see him as a 2nd rower personally...loose forward all day long...in the middle of the park in amongst the action...never takes a backward step.
He's maturing all the time into a very good player...
If you could offer one slight bit of criticism I think he's given quite a few soft penalties away at times but that is something that will be learnt with experience...plus, I suppose when you are regularly topping the tackle count you're more likely to give more penalties away than those who are doing half the amount of tackles...
From the improvement I've seen this season I'd be more than happy to see him sharing the 13 role with Arona next season..'"
If JCs ambition is to replace Kirmond then he's going the right way on that count.

| Chance for jordy to learn off westerman on the ball handling front, we ought to be learning him more, he already is a good passer, if he learns to draw a man & pass short & long he will be a hell of a loose forward + we will have him ! Take command jordy, don't let them turn you into just a tackler or a one up running forward & down !
Learn a full range of skills !
Onwards & upwards !

| Always being a fan and this season its being great to see him being given the opportunity to develop
We have let far too many go in the past and signed overseas players probably on more money who have done nothing

Really? What part of Jordan's game reminds you of Norton? I hope he doesn't drink like him.
I'd say Crowther is more like a Rich Slater or even Belly if he improves his yardage on carries.

Yes 4.6 metres average I think often wondered is that over the gain line or from receipt of the ball ?

Calm Waters don't make good sailors
If you help somebody as you go along then your life hasn't been in vain: |
|
| He's had a very good season and IMO will continue to get better. His attitude, energy, workrate and defence is first class. He's got good hands and can fill in at hooker and back row. At only 22 there's still lots of development as middles tend to hit peak at 26 onwards.
There's some great players at the club to learn from, Kirmo, Faffita, Kelepi etc and work with the coaching team to continue developing. One area is carries and average gain, although he's not too far off his older GB counterparts and seasoned 13s.
Crowther 5.55
O'loughlin 5.47
Knowles 5.85
Westerman 5.56
Stevie Ward 5.76
One thing about past players Slats, Belly, McGillivray etc is theyre cut from similar cloth to Jordy and they do lots of unseen work to help the team, Line speed, inside pressure, defensive extras, kick pressure, genuine push etc. It would be great for him to be as consistently good as these and only time will tell. Would be great for the club if he was!
Onwards and upwards with one thing for sure, he never leaves anything on that field.

| Perhaps the most impressive feature of Jordi's game is that when he makes a tackle, he sticks and is never shaken off. Quite remarkable really. It's also noticeable that he is often first into the tackle and consequently last away so when he clears the ruck the penalty may have been awarded against our defenders but it often looks like Jordi has copped it.

So what are you saying Norton was no good? I didn't say anything about drinking I'm a Wakey fan through & through but I appreciated him as a player

| So Crowther is 22, meaning his peak years are another 3-4 years away, so we have little to worry about IMHO.

He was a great player - pity he came to wakefield at the end of his career.

| I like Jordy Crowther, he’s a good SL player who’s age offers future potential but in the same class as Steve Norton he is not and never will be. No disrespect to JC there as Norton was World Class!
In terms of style, they couldn’t be more different!

Quite the opposite.
Knocker is one of the best players I've ever seen play. He is just a different style 13 to Crowther.
The drinking thing was just a throwaway. He played in a day when it was accepted but a player who tries to drink like he drank will end his career pretty quickly.
I once saw him play against Cas clearly hung over, if not still drunk. Had a great game as no one knew what the hell he was doing.
