| Ridiculous decision to take the 2 when we were only 2 points in front and on top. That added to some stupid decisions/unforced errors in play cost us dear. What it did show is that Miller and Smith have the talent if the forwards are on top.

| Could not get to game today and managed to listen to last 15 mins on Radio Leeds. Anyone know what it was that has caused Brian Smith to throw his teddy out of the cot. Radio Leeds stated categorically that BS steadfastly refused to be interviewed by them but also banned any other member of the club to be interviewed either. The radio presenter seemed to be disappointed there was no interview.
So what was it that has got BS so uptight. Was it the teams performance, the refereeing or what? All it mentioned was something about team A and B in training procedures with everything being practiced so that everything went in favour of team A or something to that effect. Was a bit baffled with it all. Anyone know?

Think what he meant was that there is team A (Salford) and team B (us) and the referee decides that team A will win.
He was probably frustrated that we did not get a penalty in the fist half but they got 4 or 5. Dont think the gripe is the penalties that are given but those that are not. When we got in front at 18-16 they get 2 piggy back penalties which led to Pattersons try to put them back in front.
Of coure he may have meant something completey different.
Where I think we lost it was when on their line and winning 26-22 Scott Moore put a kick in when it looked preferable to me to pass the ball and if we did not score take the tackle on the line and keep them down at their end. Isn't hindsight wonderful.

Shocking decision. No team in the modern game ever not ever takes 2 when your only 2 up. Messed up game management. Who the hell ordered it?

| I thought you did well and showed enough spirte and class to finish at least in the top 4, also your fans showed more class than salford who throw cups etc at Miller, unlike Wakey fans who didn't react to Classless Paterson.
I hope you return over Salford and Leigh.

Salford got the rub of the green first half but we got it with some in the second. The two penalties you mention were penalties simple as and daft ones at that. BS has thrown the teddy out of the cot by the sounds of his press conference comments and quite honestly its not justified in my view and a bit pathetic really. He needs to get rid of this victim mentality he seems to have developed recently and concentrate on improving our discipline.

| Why the sudden rush to condemn ? Seems strangely masochistically gleeful ?! No, I'm not naive, or rose-tinted but I think context is key. We didn't know today if we were going to be blown away by 30 and shown up as having no hope of even competing.
Instead, a team that should beat us week in week out in paper, with almost superior players in every position, frankly, got away with one. We lost it, they didn't outclass, outperform or out- enthuse us.
Most games this year have left me feeling depressed but this one is frustrating. Ours to win, the better team and we conspired to throw it. That's very different to obeying smashed by 40 every week.
Much will be made of Tupou blowing the pass to Owen but in the last 4 mins alone, scruton threw a bad pass in their ten, knocked on at the ptb, simon turned over an offload and gave away a pointless pen to piggy back them to safety.
We weren't unlocked by a superior 13 men - two of their tries were length of the pitch efforts which lets face it are arbitrary ; no coach plans for, plays for or builds a strategy on them.
Nothing against Salford - they didn't"t 'rob' us and their tactics were spot on 1st half ; but when we started to play, they didn't / couldn't compete - we ran in two quick scores.
Moore was Awful imho But I don't think anyone else was poor (merely stupid at crucial moments)
If the sentiment of the post was one of exasperation, frustration or lamenting that at the end of the eights we may count the cost of is, I absolutely concur. But surely to write us off based on that game is ludicrous ?
It is of course a results, not a performance business but I don't think that performance suggests we will necessarily lose the next 6 matches and thus be relegated, hence my questioning of the post.

If he thinks we lost because of the referee then we are in bigger trouble than anybody realised.

| If we keep on with this victim mentality, we are only heading one way.
We lost it due to being virtually non existent in the first half and playing some very dumb football in the second half.
Every week BS blames the referees in his press conferences.
Until we take ownership of our problems, we can't do anything about them.
People are saying on paper that Salford should have beaten us heavily, we have been virtually just training for this moment for over ten weeks.
The club needed to make a statement on the pitch. The coach won't even make one off the pitch.

Not saying I agree with him just trying to interpret his comments.
At 22-26 we had the game and but we blew it, simple as that.

Let's hope he is more concerned with our poor game management than the referee. The signs are there that we can do it but we're running out of time to turn it into points.

Hope so. Lets hope that the hurt of losing a game that we should have won will spur us on next week against Bradford - lose that and get Whitehaven & Workington programmed into your Sat Nav's.

Your normally even handed but not this time Dave. A few eejits as ever on both sides but the continued attacks on Rangi were poor - even you must have heard them.
As for the match I felt the Devils deserved the win but Smith was sublime in the 2nd half. I think you will be too strong for the Bulls. This is a NEW Wakey team and as long as these half backs are retained you will be OK, McShane badly missed imo.

| Don't think there were any surprises in the opening 4 games of the middle 8s.
We were expected to lose but nearly didn't
Hull KR were expected to win but nearly didn't
Widnes were expected to win but only just did.
Bradford went to script.
To suggest we are down on the strength of the 1st set of results is illogical. The next two fixtures are crucial. Willzay and Scarlet should hold back their orgasms until after then

Granted I wasn't there and only saw on TV, but I saw Salford fans throwing objects at players, much worst than shouting out.
