Don't rate Clawson, never have, until he leaves the team will always struggle in this department.
Seems a popular bloke, we'll know in the rugby community, sadly that does not make you good at the job.

| I'm not going to read too much into the game, it's a one off, a lot of debutants, players out of position and nowhere near in season ready condition.
Most of what I think has already been mentioned on this thread including how on earth does Richard Owen deserve a 3 year contract.
Tom Johnstone isn't a suprise to those who've watched him progress.
Craig Halls a good signing but has his flaws
To see the best of Miller he needs to be allowed to settle into one position
Washbrook is either a back rower or nothing Dan Smith is a better option though.
Agree very much with Mopsey regards fitness, if we can't be the best then we should at least be the fittest team in the competition!

| For me the main difference was that Leeds looked as if they had been playing together for years but Trin looked like strangers. I stuck up for ages for Rich on the Cas board as I thought he came in for some unfair stick but he was shocking today. He's got the lot if he want's to use it and can be outstanding on his day but the main problem seems to be in his head.

Makes you wonder why he made himself available yesterday?. Thing is its a pre-season game, he scored some important tries that won Wakey a fair few games last season. Probably best for the pitch fork brigade to remember that.

Are you saying you're happy with his performance? I don't want to pitchfork anyone, unless it's in the backside to get them to perform better!
Some players are carrot and some are stick, I'm not sure what makes Richie tick, and we desperately need him to believe in himself as we don't have a wealth of options. Us slating him on here probably doesn't help, but we can't change what we saw!

| Let's be realistic. We played with Ryan and Washbrook in centre.
Washbrook didn't know what to do positionally and Owen just couldn't give a toss.
That isn't going to be the case in the league.
We had two front rowers that haven't played for months as Catalan stopped playing them when we signed them.
A few new boys that did ok but all need to improve fitness and co ordination in defence.
Not great but not as bad as score suggests.

| Don't worry. Wakey have seven months to get their act together before they face Leigh, London and the Bulls who are all gunning for them to be the "vulnerable" SL team just right for the beating. It is going to be an interesting play-off series with Wakey and three other struggling SL teams in there so look forward to the next seven months as the seven games after that get really serious for you and the rest of that middle league.
Happy new year and see you when it gets squeaky bum time!

Here I'll make a brave prediction before anyone knows who's in the middle eight or even played a game!
None of the Championship teams will win promotion to SL!

Maybe Wakey playing dressed as Santa, put him off his game?
On the positive side of things. WTW looked pretty sharp for 1st 15 and last 10 mins of game. Some of the youngsters looked promising. I would like to have seen more of the lad in the 3 shirt who came on for last 10, looked very comfortable at dummy half.

| To be fair to Washbrook he's just as awful in his natural position never mind centre so I didn't expect anything else from him really.
