I understand that put it put us under a lot of pressure, IMO we made it harder for ourselves.

As for Moore running in and pushing him off its to be expected..it was proven to be dangerous it dislocated his team mate's shoulder! If Gibson hadn't put his arm out he'd have landed on his head on that hard plastic pitch potentially breaking his neck. Have another look...

With the two points now in the bag, it no longer matters
Still buzzing after the win, onwards and upward.

If it was Him it wouldn't take 4 months for the injury to heal, and your blinkered vision would be healed.

Well argued.
What really is funny though is you & other Widnes fans thinking you can read the refs mind & claim he definitely wouldn't have given nothing (penalty at most) till Moore ran over & pushed him off the injured Gibson. That's some logic.

| Quote: WV1 "Widnes fans were not disputing the penalty given (although I think the yellow card was harsh), we were more aggrieved with the fact it wasn’t even going to be a penalty to you until Scott Moore ran from 20 metres to start pushing Ah Van around which caused a melee, which resulted in Ah Van being sin binned. If Scott Moore hadn’t of ran in from 20 metres that wouldn't have been a penalty never mind a yellow card- that is not right. It also set the precedent for the game- run in from 20 metres and start a melee and you get away jack free.'"
I think you missed the point of my post
If a player goes off badly injured. Both sets of fans generally tend to clap the player off. It's as a sign of respect
In this case though the Widnes fans didn't clap an injured player off

| We all know the class of Widnes fans, so no surprise there. It's a good job it wasn't at home, I'd have feared for Daddy Cool's life.

To be honest I don't think you have to read Cobb's mind to see he wasn't going to give a penalty, he stood with our defensive line until the pushing started, likewise the touch judge, stood two yards away with a perfect view, didn't raise his flag until after Moore ran in. If they were going to give something they had plenty of time to do so before Usain Moore ran 20 yards.
But, to even things up, Cobb also gave play on when Moore smashed PAV, but then decided it was a high tackle after the brawl.
I thought he was poor all round and lost total control for around fifteen minutes in the first half, only gaining some sort of responsibility after you scored.

Thanks Denis Betts!
I wonder if Betts will receive a fine for being over critical of the referee to the media? 'Worst refereeing he has witnessed in 30 years' etc!
www.skysports.com/rugby-league/n ... n-30-years
He probably deserves it and didn't apologise unlike his England Assistant Coach pre decessor the ex- Bradford coach Jimmy Lowes after the million pound game...
....two peas in a pod there..I'm sure Bennett is looking forward to working with him!

There's no doubt that Cobb is a poor ref; but you lost the game because of the terrible discipline of your players - not because of the referee.
Maybe if your coach was a bit more responsible, your players would too? There's a lot to be said for setting an example and building a culture.

| Just watched the highlights and it seemed Widnes game plan was to play dirty and try and suck us in to it. The Ah van should be a 4 game minimum for him. The deliberate trip by Marsh should be a 4 game minimum too. Not sure what Scott Moore got sent off for as you can't tell if the tackle was high as its from the back of the play. He can't have been sent off for fighting as he didn't get chance to as he got trampled. Looked like their fullback dropped the ball putting it down too.

| Some of the comments on this forum are remarkable and absurd.
Good luck for the rest of the season and see you next season.

That's true most of the time - but on this thread, the only remarkable and absurd comments have come from Widnes fans; the latest bunch to find it impossible to accept defeat to lowly Wakefield - hence trotting out allsorts of childish nonsense about the ref, Ash Gibson, or anything other than being beaten by the better team.
I suppose we will see you next season - but judging by the attitude of your boo-boys, social media trolls and whiney coach, I won't look forward to it.
