That's your perogative - however the more people that react like this, the less chance there will be of there being a club to come back to at some point in the future.
I've got my season ticket, as I have had for as long as I can remember and I'll do whatever else I can to help the club through this mess (unfortunately I don't have £M's to spare otherwise we would not be having these discussions).
Wakefield Trinity is a part of my life and I don't want to lose it, so I'll do what I can. If the worst happens then at least I will know I tried. I wish the club wasn't at this point again, but it is, so now is the time for us all to stand up and fight for what we want.

Saying that I've already got mine for next year so I'm daft enough to do it anyway.
At the end of the day I don't support individual players, I support Wakefield rugby league club....and whichever players play for them. So the who's playing question won't stop me going.'"
Exactly, look at my signature..

The problem is i'm hearing plenty of fans reacting in that way, many have had enough and just don't have the stomach for the fight anymore. I've also heard it said that it is like watching a dear old relative ebbing away and they are in so much pain that everyone will be glad when they are finally at rest and the pain and stress are over. People have had enough of the false dawns, the lies, the disappointments year after year.
Without a multi-millionaire coming in we are never going to compete with the big boys, at best the odd decent season and a play-off game is as good as it will get. Society is a different place these days, people want everything tomorrow, they want instant success. Patience is a dinosaur and the fans that jumped on the the good ship Trin on the back of cheap tickets when things were looking up, won't hang around when the proverbial hits the fans. They'll be off to find the next bandwagon.
Problem is this time many of the old guard are battle weary and have had enough, especially so soon after the last meltdown. Right now many of these, who have fought tooth and nail in the past, would be willing to let the old relative pass away to ease the pain so they don't have to go through it all again. Its sad, but you know what?, I wouldn't blame them for walking away this time if thats what they want to do. They have done their time, they have earned their stripes and there are other, less stressful, things in life to do that don't involve Wakefield Trinity. They are probably cheaper as well.
My ticket is bought for next year but after 30 years the enjoyment is starting to wain. I don't have any extra money to spend on the club, in fact circumstances are dictating that I am probably going to have to spend less this coming season. And I know i'm not the only one, times aren't great financially for many and because of that the clubs plea for financial help from the fans could be a forlorn one. With relegation next year the clubs superleague future is at serious risk but we are likely to be going into the season with a weaker side whilst all around (maybe bar London) are strengthening theirs. And relegation could well mean an elongated spell in the lower divisions and a lost generation of fans as a result. I hope we can get through the next couple of months and a white knight rides in to saves us but right now things seem quite bleak. It's a bad time to be having a bad time.

Equally he might be just as wrong.
Unquestionably there is a lot of negativity and doubt but this is over the years what we have become to expect being a Wakey fan, so it is at least understandable (to us anyway) if not to outsiders.
It is (less so) a vehicle for gathering support for change and that is also evident.
One thing that we should not discourage though is participation after all everyone has an opinion and at heart - the best of intentions for their club.
We are independent and we should have a voice - for good would be ideal but arriving at that is sometimes difficult and always different for each individual supporter.

You know I mean the name on the badge, however if the sponsors name on the front was Sony, or Coca-Cola, or Apple then the same would apply.

| Agree with you on that El Ray, I have been a fan for God knows how many years and I always buy a season ticket and a shirt and every home game I buy a programme and a raffle ticket (or score prediction) I even bought £200 worth of shares when Ted put out his distress call. I love the game and I love the team and the fans but I get totally p-----d off with the continued selling of players and the threat of closure. My head tells me to call it a day but my heart tells me it will be better next year. When you look round the league of ex Wakey players who are playing very well it makes you think if only. AG said we would never be a selling club again but words are cheap, like some of our players I suppose.

The off season we have 19's and first team squad to pay, plus every non playing staff member too ! That's what's needed, the debt is another huge problem, so is the directors loan from west York's window's at over 400K itself
4 Million was the figure quoted but I thought it was a bit excessive.
I hope your ok and end up getting sorted out. wouldn't want to see you lot or cas go under

Good Post
Could still be enough life in Old Girl if she can get treatment from a 'Doctor Dosh'
However without that you are right, could be time for her to go on The Liverpool Pathway.

| This is my 43 post and I am quite stunned at the thread. I am a long time supporter, my first final was 62 and Jacques and myself stood in the rain in 68. In short, had the t shirt, in fact several of them, good years and many dire average years included.
I have been in business for over 30 years and been through several recessions. In simple terms, you have to do what the new chairman is trying to do, cut your overheads which include staff and running costs. It is a painful process but necessary. I was once told not to feel sorry for staff when you lay them off (easier said than done) as they will not feel sorry for you when applying for another job. In many ways, you can draw a parallel and see that most players will get another job and in some cases better terms. This business difference is that you could end up being paid for losing an employee by another club to improve your bank balance.
The thread opener referred to overseas players, and I still maintain that after wages, flights, accommodation, car and ancillary family costs, this is more expensive than an average English player. I know we played Castleford with only 2 UK players some years ago to stay up and I accept commitment is not an issue. It is basic finance. If push came to shove, would you prefer to lose Aiton, Poore and Tautai or Kirmond, Amor and Annakin?
London, Castleford, Bradford, HKR & Wakefield all have issues. Who knows how it will pan out for them. Perhaps we are too open for our own good.
I will keep the faith, buy my tickets and the rest, and continue to think of ideas to get the old girl back on her feet again. There is too much history, tradition and memories to do otherwise. We need Mr.Carter & Co. to feel there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
KEEP THE FAITH- TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER

You miss my point. I was referring to his point avoiding the forums, personally.
Sick of reading the doom and gloom and other supporters gloating while pretending to be informing us.
Opinions are valid, but I don't want to read them all. Thats my perogative!

| Of those six Manuel if I had to keep three it would be Kirmond,Aiton and Amor.
I would retain on the basis of best for the team.
So one import retained and two off loaded if absolutely necessary.
