| Still nothing sorted at Salford... " In a statement this afternoon (Tuesday) the governing body said: “The RFL special measures committee have determined at their meeting earlier today that in addition to the existing restrictions on player movements in and out of Salford Red Devils that were already in place, the sustainability cap of £1.2m that was imposed on the club in February and lifted ahead of their Betfred Super League Round Two fixture will be reimposed immediately. In addition, Salford Red Devils have been asked to update and explain to the RFL’s special measures committee and representatives from Rugby League Commercial at a meeting on Wednesday morning the current position regarding non-payment of staff, and how this will be rectified as well as a wider update on the club's financial sustainability.”

| Well, the fact that Salford have fielded an academy team vs saints has already brought the integrity of the comp into question. For example, if Wigan and saints are level on points at the end of the season but saints have a small advantage of points difference then how is that fair? The thing that annoys me more is that we have had a very hard start but have managed to keep our points conceded relatively low. If now looks like Cas who have had a poor start could be looking at a healthy win vs a very understrength Salford team and could rack up points to offset some of that poor start. How is that right to teams around them? Could be difference between a finishing position and resulting in points gained/lost on IMG performance. They’ve already affected the integrity of the comp. There was supposed to be follow up on the team they fielded a few weeks ago and we’ve heard nothing. Players may even refuse to play altogether if they don’t get paid. After a positive few opening rounds and vegas a positive step Salford have really cast a dark shadow over the competition. I’m expecting some significant points deduction for them some point soon.

| What difference does points been taken of them make ,just downgrade them to a level grade C club so if they/or when they finish bottom they can be relegated .Or kick them out now and give the club's that have to play them a buy and a points plus of the average points they have had scored against them .People may now appreciate how much work as gone into our club over the last 10 year .We could have gone down the same road as Salford .As said we are in a great place as a club .We have a good pack, just need to tinker with the spine to get it right .Think we have made a giant step forward on that, on the new signing for next season .He as a great kicking and passing game, and is 25 and played in the Ozz grand final 2 year ago Just let's enjoy were we are

I said three weeks ago, they should be removed from super league and the Saint Helens result expunged. Then give every team a bye round when they should be playing Salford I understand your point of view but would offer a couple of arguments against expelling Salford from the league 1) I am travelling from Australia to the UK during May and the two home games which coincide with my visit are Warrington and Salford... I already have tickets and will be mightily peeved if one of those games is cancelled2) if, by giving a bye, you mean two points are awarded to the opposing team (as in NRL)... or indeed if no points are awarded... five teams will gain either a two point advantage or a two point deficit due to the loop fixtures, and indeed who would play HKR at magic weekend... AND at least two clubs would play a home game less than everyone else.

| If they go bust then by all means take the points off everyone to keep it fair but if they just field a weekend side it's completely their choice.
It's their choice who they play. Just like we chose Lino over Russell even though Russell is our 7.

That does not work they could /can start picking their matches they think they can win and put a stronger team out. If they finish second from bottom they have shafted the S L again

What's the story there? Speaking to someone I know they mentioned he was back and just needed to get some match fitness to get back up to speed.
