Quote: Willzay "Agree with the ticket allocation Wrenny. Might just die of second hand embarrassment if we have to give some tickets back to Siddal.'"

Standing in a quagmire on top of a hill in winter watching a team of amateurs being battered by professionals (hopefully) is not my idea of a fun day out, even assuming you're lucky enough to see the game. Last time I was out that way was to watch my daughter play hockey on top of a hill. That was a June day...and it was bloody cold then!

Quote: Trojan Horse "Disagree with this in part. It’s not that Trinity can’t sell 500 tickets (we just took 1500 approximately to York). It’s simply that fans aren’t convinced that the viewing, facilities are going to offer good value (yes, even for £10).

I won’t take my kids, with almost 1500 tickets and around a flat pitch I can’t see they’ll be able to see. The weather and being exposed to standing on a wet pitch won’t be great. Also squished like sardines trying to battle for a good view isn’t my idea of a good day out.

It’s not that trinity can’t it’s that the fans aren’t enthused or have concerns that have caused them to make a decision.

What’s poor is you calling the club/fans out as poor when there’s obvious reasons behind the low uptake. I say low but as I understand there isn’t many tickets left.

This is a big game if you are a Siddal fan but for a trinity fan it’s the opposite and probably the least appealing fixture of the season.'"

I dont disagree with what you are saying.
However, even with all of those factors being taken into account, we should be getting through our allocation of 500 tickets all day long.
Look on it as a donation to a solid grassroots club, who have done very well to reach this stage of the cup.
Hey, ATEOTD it's each to their own and it's an experience that I havent had in all my years watching Trin and it may not come around again for many years to come.
However, I'm more than happy to go and put a few quid into their coffers.
Yes, it should be a big mis match but, watching how Siddal go about the game should be interesting and worth £10 all day long.
We should be putting 50 plus points on them and not conceding too many and it's likely to be cold, windy and muddy, with a crap view of the game.
As long as they dont run out of pop, it will be ok.

Think it's down to personal choice tbh....
I'm not going as I've something else on - perhaps more may have gone if - like me - it was played on Sunday.

Didn't we only take 50 to a game at Saints last season? Apart from Cas and Leeds I doubt we took 500 fans to many away games over the last few years.

Its not poor fans simply dont want to attend where they will see very little of the game as be sqashed in like sardines or trying to see over people's heads and hats.thats not forgetting the people who cant stand.and you say a tenner in a couple of weeks siddal will be charging £3 to stand at the very same ground to watch a game of rugby.i personally dont have an issue with siddal but i do the rfl i just hope there isnt any safety issues

I think we took a decent number to Saints to see Will Dagger's debut so more likely either Salford or Wigan away could be highlighted as exceptionally poor following.

We took above 500 to Shudds though iirc.

No it's not. It will be 5 deep at the barrier and I'd hazard a guess that 4 deep of those who may be less than 6ft tall won't see anything. And why would you even think about taking kids for that reason.

Then the parking / weather etc. Not for me, and I don't buy into any talk that not going to the game indicates some kind of negativity or poor from from a "bigger club" who should be selling 500 tickets.

We could ask many away teams why they don't bring many to Belle Vue. We all know the answer to that.

Agree ,any way the tickets have gone, as a fan at 70 plus years old would find it impossible to stand in a field for two hours,As some one said, last year we did not take 500 fans to most away games .All these new conditions for R L Clubs grounds Think any amateur team when drawn at a home against any professional team should be made to play there game at a ground fit for purpose

And I’ll say it again,
I cannot see any logic or sense in Siddal choosing to play it at their home ground.
The Challenge Cup against a club that at this moment in time has huge momentum amongst its fan base, who would likely have sold 3,000+ tickets if at a stadium which allowed it. That would have offered Siddal a decent financial windfall.
Their players would have experienced something new, had a big day in front of a big crowd in a professional setting. A day for them to savour and remember as opposed to changing in their regular changing rooms, playing on their home pitch and experiencing just a slightly bigger crowd than normal.

I can only imagine that they somehow feel playing at home will give them a chance of winning the game, I can’t see any other motive for sacrificing the benefits of playing elsewhere.

But, I fully respect that it’s their choice, they are totally within their rights to make the decision they’ve made and I can shake my head at it till it falls off, it’s still their prerogative to make the decision.

I really doubt 3k would've turned up, the mood is positive and whilst we are at the beginning of hopefully something special, we're nowhere near that kind of support for, to be frank, an unattractive cup tie.

Hope so. It will be a much better day if the weather is decent for all involved.
