I could have told you that, doesn't mean it's true though.

I’d suggest you take it with a pinch of salt. Won’t happen for many reasons. That’ll will not stop the council peddling the myth for a few months though. There’s more chance of it being built in MC’s back garden.
Put it this way, if the club were to align on this project then Manni Hussain would have BV as rubble before you know it. It would then be redeveloped for a mix of small community use pitches and mainly commercial. So it would be gone for good. Win for 88M. We would have nowhere to go as Newmarket is as likely as Monty Pythons Norwegian Blue Parrot taking flight and the reserved matters planning keeps getting kicked into the long grass until a point comes where we have conceded it won’t happen. Time constraints mean that time is close. Then the planning will go through. Yorkcourt win. Balne Lane is a smoke screen designed to throw people off the scent. The council appear helpful, we are made out to be the bad boys. We move out of the area, the council wash hands of all responsibility. Council win. See a trend here?
We have been backed into a corner with only one card left to play and it’s the ‘hope it all kicks off if we leave the city one’. Sadly most of the city couldn’t give a flying and would prefer another Costa Coffee & Burger King to a rugby ground.

| WMDC just running rings round us again. Feel we need to put the frighteners on Peter Box again just like at the council meeting when he looked extremely uncomfortable to have to face a public gallery full of Wakefield fans.

| Is the new planning for Newmarket allowed without approval of stadium elsewhere in the City? That planning keeps getting delayed and delayed.

| The only way Balne Lane is a 'goer' is that it is an ideal site for the council to name to buy time.
It has a certain credibility regarding its size and location. It also has the potential to raise objections and all sorts of feasibility studies. I would say it has a useful life span of around two years to delay this project. The council can then come up with another site to buy even more time if we are still around.
There must be at least a dozen sites and probably more around this City in order to build a stadium IF BOX WANTED ONE BUILT. But he doesn't, so while ever he is calling the shots, nothing will ever happen.

Access road to where ????
Junction 40 or 41 of the M1 are the nearest motorway junctions...are they going to build a skyway over Flanshaw and Peacock or Wrenthorpe ????

| I like how the council keep pointing to these other sites when there's a perfect site there ready and waiting with plans already drawn up....If only we had a council that wasn't willing to bend over to greedy business men

Don’t get your point? it would be like loads of other City/town central stadia. City centre parking, park and ride boost City Centre footfall, walking distance from train station easier walking distance than Belle Vue for most fans. Knowing the list of other failed projects it probably won’t happen but access won’t be the reason why.

| Oír of curiosity, how far down Balne Lane is it. Bit spent much time on there in past 20 years or so. I used to know it around Balne Lane WMC.
Alternatively, Wakefield City, if coming from Thornes Road, how about pre match pint at bottom of Westgate
