| Just enjoy the moment, for five days I'm gonna bask in the knowledge that we're getting a new ground, we can still possibly finish fourth and be in the semis, at worst we can finish sixth, what a magnificent end to an amazing season. It might all go t its up in the next twelve months but in the meantime I'm a proud bloke.

| Quote: vastman "PB has been fighting for a new stadium for 15 years now, your a bit out of order on this imho.
He's simply raising some real concerns, anyone willing to look beyond the hype can see that.'"
I actually know quite a bit about DJ, in fact I've known him since 1972 when I worked with him long before Swag was ever thought of, I admire him as a man and also a trinity fan, somebody who I've met at every SL ground over the years and a few times in Perps, one thing I could guarantee when I went to watch the young uns play away at Cas, Stanningley, even Warrington the first 2 people I'd see would be him and belly so I'm perfectly aware of his commitment and his concerns over this club, but sometimes you have to put your trust in somebody else and hope Mr Carter has got it right.
Quote: vastman "I know your opinion of me
PB is spot on we need to remain vigilant. The fact he isn't optimistic is his choice and although I don't feel quite the same as him but he makes some great points.'"
your opinion is wrong, I agree with quite a lot of what you say but unfortunately when I don't agree with you, you take it personally which then descends into insults.
As for PB whether or not his points are of value or not he is entitled to them, and by the same token so am I, and in this instance I thought that his negativity should be toned down until things became clearer.

| Won't they need parking for the retail residential and entertainment properties too?

That's just how I feel right now.
Year after year of doom & gloom, we're due a break.
Well done to all concerned, let's hope for a bright new future.

There has obviously been some serious thought about this stadium and the practicalities of building it there. I can't believe that the issue of car parking has not been addressed!

| Moving away from the doom and gloom of the parking issues, it needed addressing, but lets go back to a bit of possitivity.
Looking at the plans again, did anyone see the 88m logo on one of the stands.
Could they intending on sponsoring one of the stands, like Fleetmaster do, or maybe something a little bit more than that.

Possibly the best approach - just don't break out the best China just yet

I'm guessing they have been working with the architect on this and got the artists impressions done. MC said stand/stadium sponsorship was still being weighed up in the grand scheme.

Exactly how I feel about it as well. I know we've been stung a few times before but this seems so much more positive than past endeavours. At the risk of sounding a bit of a trekkie "make it so!".

| As a grizzled Trin fan of many decades, it's hard not to be cynical. Nothing formally agreed yet, but I'm more confident about this incarnation.
The big thing with projects like this is, obviously. paying for it.
However, from what MC said, I think the council has agreed to take the lease on and borrow the money up front to get the build done. This is a big difference.
What makes these things succeed is that there is something in it for all parties involved.
Club/Trust get a fit for purpose stadium
Yorkcourt get more time to generate funds from NM to pay back the loan
Manni gets money from the lease/rent + guaranteed footfall and possibly a fast lane to planning for his residential/retail development.
WMDC get? Income from Trin staying in the district? escape potential court action? get rid of the perennial naggers from the Trust? Maybe it's the new CEO's new remit to increase visitors to the city?
MC & CB now have six weeks to do the sums and thrash out a deal with all the parties by 31st Oct.
The only thing that I can see preventing/delaying the project is planning objections from the locals. That's a tight fit on the plot and some high buildings potentially blocking light/views?
If it's anything like that design, it will be a cracking atmosphere with just few thousand home fans and we should get near to capacity fairly regularly. I guess 10k is all that's possible on such a small site, and most of that is standing. If the seating is increased in the future, the overall capacity would be reduced further.
Would the west stand be the only seating? Where is the corporate accommodation?
MC did mention training facilities, so hopefully, that is the things at NM as originally planned.

Good point. Think that's a bit of a developers trick. Initially publish the most ott scenario then to make it appear that you are compliant then scale the plans down to what you always intended in the first place. I've a feeling those flats are nothing like what will eventually go there. Ditto the stadium - bit like a concept car, looks great but the real thing may be a touch more utilitarian. Just my opinion.

Yep. SDA will either do their own 3D images or have a company that produces them from the architects drawings. I suspect these are the genuine plans/designs for now, but until certain objections/problems come forward then they might be changed to suite. The 88M logo will just be a bit of shameless advertising, but they will have paid for them so why not.

What would 88M get out of paying for these designs, they're apparently leasing the ground to the council initially so whilst still owning the ground they can't sell it for the time of the lease. I can't see why they'll be involved in the design. Can someone point me in the right direction?

| Newmarket for me was never the best outcome based entirely on its location. I'm over the moon with the new BV plans, for me it means I will continue to watch Trinity for many a season . I have had some brilliant times over the years at B V and can not wait for a new era to start.
The club can now plan for the future on a solid foundation and truly get involved with the Wakefield public and hopefully market the club in a modern and positive way.
I have sat comfortably in quite a few new stadiums in the uk and Australia but for me they lack that feeling of belonging and seem stark. If only the new development could in some way keep its own identity and history I'm hope full that the developments got off to a great start staying at B V.
Its great news capping off a very good period for the club.
