| Sounds like Plan B, if true, although would be pointless if it wasn't going to be a genuine thing, which if it is, the stadium side of Newmarket won't happen if Silkwood Park gets approved first, I presume, as it would be daft to have two stadiums.
Maybe the franchise application is along the lines of we have the funding for two stadiums, we will pursue both options, and one will get the nod within twelve months, and whichever one does, that one goes ahead.
Just as aside, does anyone know whether anyone has ever got permission for something like that at Silkwood Park but not built it? I'm just wondering whether Parkin has got permission, or nearly got it, for his football thing, and we're going to jump on the back of it with a bigger version. Is someone sitting on approval somewhere that we're going to adopt? Or are these things so public or the expiry date so soon that it would not be possible?
I am only assuming that the post on the Cas board is true. It might be nonsense or based on old rumours, but it sounded plausible.

A simple yey or ney will suffice.'"
I have some knowledge of some of the events on going, but I suspect that the picture is much larger than the one I have - so ney - I know what is relevant to what we need to know at this time and that is that we need to keep pushing the case for NM with those concerned.

| The Silkwood Park thing is interesting because Ossett Town have sold Ingfield to Morrisons for £6.5 million and are currently preparing applications for a new stadium nr Queens Drive.
The WMDC know about Osset Towns plans and maybe they've made it known to Trinity that they want us to share with Ossett at Silkwood rather than see a THIRD stadium development within the district which would be ridiculous.
If York Court are happy to fund the stadium at Silkwood with a small investment from Ossett maybe the council have indicated a free run at the planning process. Just speculation and nothing more.
Like TRB said, Newmarket is and has to be our focus and I certainly don't want to detract from that.

| Reading the couple of sensible posters on there, someone posted the status of our chairmanship, in that Parkin wanted the club, and was prepared to bring in other billionaires, if the RFL could guarantee a place. Glover agreed that he would buy the club, and if we went down, he would keep it, as it would suit his more limited pocket (wish mine was that limited). If we got a franchise, Parkin would take over financially and pump money in.
Nathan Brown has apparently said something about two teams coming up, and how it would give more youngster a go. So I'm wondering whether that poster has got it right, that the nod has been given, that no one is leaving, and so Parkin is onboard. If so, the future is very bright.

Sounds plausible, keeps the Newmarket focus, because it is still connected to the development, and would bring in Parkin.
God, my head hurts!

Certainly one of the rumours doing the rounds yesterday. I can't see the announcement being about the franchise, even if the RFL have indicated anything to us, as they don't announce the franchise decision until July.

If Parkin is at the meeting, you might be able to make 2 and 2 make 4.

| Its going to be an interesting meeting either way. If parkin is involved here then why would the club go through all the rigmorole of a meeting at ceder court if he was just going to walk away if we didn't get a licence. Theres more to this than meets the eye, methinks the goalposts may be about to be moved once again.

But if the club knows that they're not going down, even though they can't say so, they could start planning and doing things as if they were staying in SL.
If the S Parkin was waiting in the wings for our SL status to be secured and he now knows that it is, he and Andrew Glover might see the logic in him getting involved now. Guiseley are now in their closed season and now would be the right time for them in terms of planning for next year.
One other sign that we might be safe is the sudden move to offering 2 & 3 year contracts to Hickey, Mariano, Wildey etc..
Once again, I'm only speculating!

The plot thickens. but at least for positive reasons.
It's going to be a long couple of weeks.

This would be great. Parkin's involvment was a common theme of every speculation yesterday.

| Reading all this, which is just speculation, one suspects the truth is much more straightforward!! I hope the meeting on the 8th June is as amazing news as the club says and as amazing as the speculation going around!! can we just be in superleague for next three years and have a new stadium within those three years!! can it just be that simple, please!!

How about a 3 way share of a new build ground the year after that?
