It's got more to do with the way the RFL was completely in compliance with the decision to go into administration, as the Governing body the HMRC expects them to take a very very hard line against clubs who opt for Administration, it has to be the resort that comes way after the last resort and even then should be frowned upon.
The way the Crusaders and the RFL cahooted in order to somehow maintain a club in Wrexham has totaly P*$$£d off the HMRC and cost them a lot of money in the process, and they have withdrawn their good graces from ALL RFL member clubs.
That means that everyone will now face finding the money to pay off their TAX bills. Even well run clubs who have the money sometimes opt for a payment plan as it aids cash flow especially during the closed season, some clubs will just pay up because they can, some sugar daddies will just write a cheque but some other clubs will find it very hard and Wakefield in particular have been to the well once too often.
The RFL, in offering preferential treatment to the Crusaders have shafted a number of clubs but some more than others.

The money is safe if the offer fails. I want guarantees that the club is safe if it succeeds.

Clan, whilst I agree the preferential treatment is an annoyance, it still does not explain why we have yet more unpaid tax (presumably GBP 350k worth?). Clearly we have been operating beyond our means for far too long and as has been said the best thing to do is go into admin ourselves and reform the club

Even if it succeeds the new shareholder can assess the situation at the time and opt to recall the money if they think thats best. They can opt to leave the money where it is and wait for clarity on the situation or they can choose to use it for the purposes which they first chose to invest/donate it, ie saving the club.

Could it be we have finally touched on the puzzle as to why the money is needed that urgently, could'nt this have been explained at the start instead of certain people on here playing ducks and drakes with peoples emotions and having sheite loads of unneccessary pages of fans at each others throat, I hope you are proud of yourselves.

| Well I know we wouldn't win but I would love to see the rfl dragged through court, they have all but ruined the game for a lot of people. They should not be allowing clubs preferential treatment. They are nothing short of a disgrace.

Didn't Batley's chairman go public recently accusing the RFL of selling out other clubs to save Crusaders after the RFL refused to register Batley players until they had paid off a £20k bill to HMRC ? I recall that the RFL had sent a letter to all clubs telling them to pay up immediately as HMRC had told them that following the Crusaders issue, and specifically the RFL's complicity in the matter, RL clubs were now seen as a bad risk by HMRC.

This is one of the big problems with the club and always has been - communication. If you look what we know today compared to the initial information after the shareholder meeting there is no comparison - it should not take 3 days to know what we do now - oh and alot of it is not from the club themselves

Chissit, It's not the place of the people on here to decide whether to share info about this, however it's now appeared in the Yorkshire Post so the cats out of the bag (Excuse the pun).
Apart from that a number of us have only found out about this in the last few hours....

Tru even though the HMRC were happy with Batley's payment plan the RFL told them they must pay up (so Cru could get some leighway) has the same happened here? Is the RFL risking the futures of X amount if clubs to see one saved?

| Dont forget we still have the image rights bill to pay as well, once the outcome of the Leeds test case is known.
Sorry but I am still waiting for a logical reason not to go into admin (the franchise application imo is not one, cos they need at least one club to go to make way for Widnes, and that will be us)

| I came out of Tuesday's meeting thinking OK I'll stump up £1000 to help keep the club alive. The more I think about it the more I wonder if my £1000 might be more use after we go bust?
Undecided!

it would be easy to say the left hand does not know what the right hand is up to, in our case it appears the left hand does not know the right hand even exists or perhaps does not want to. They are wanting 500 idiots to come across with a grand apiece and I choose the term idiots' carefully because that is what they would be if they buy into this plea from the board. Without them at least having the decency to explain the urgent need for the cash, they just shows how much contempt the board hold the fans in when asking them to stump up by using emotional blackmail instead of telling the truth outright and drip feeding us little bits by its lieutenants on here, perhaps they ought to respect the fans intelligence instead of insulting it they might have found them more responsive to the situation.

Don't worry about the Image Rights bill, if Leeds lose the test case with the sums involved all SL Clubs will be going into administration.
I fear that we will end up in administration and yes there are logical reasons to go into administration but we need to look at every avenue open to us - if that leads to administration so be it but we can't give up yet.
