One of the most likeable blokes I've ever known in football.

That's a shame. Always seemed a really nice bloke if a little insane! Did better than any other England manager in my lifetime.

Shocking news!

A great coach and, from everything I've ever seen of him, a 1st class human being and gentleman.

Never really got the credit his exploits as England Manager deserved, he was inches away from taking us to the World Cup Final and IMO is up there with Alf Ramsey as the best England Boss ever.

More sad news for the Geordies.

R.I.P Bobby Robson, a true gentleman.

At least he died with dignity in trying to raise money for the illness he was suffering from rather then whoring himself out to the media like Jade Goody.

A great player fabulous coach (who broke new ground in english football,and paved the way for many other coaches to go to europe)

And not least of all a inspiring human being, anyone who battles cancer 5 times and lives on for this long, shows his true charachter.

You will be sadly missed, bobby.

I have been fortunate enough to meet the man - at a Durham v Yorkshire 20:20 game a few years ago.

Proper gent and loved his sport - all sport.

sometimes things are said on the death in respect for the person that has died, not knowing or met Bobby I genuinely believe he was like a father figure to all that did work with him or knew him well

What a great feeling it is, sat here at home chilled out with Wakey sitting nicely in the top six and with the knowledge that I don't have to get up for work in the morning...
