Attended last nights meeting, but could not get past the door, was it mentioned how many platinum season tickets we have sold?.
PS The first thing we should buy is a can of WD40 for the toilet doors, we could hear most until someone went to the loo.

Great meeting enjoyed what I heard.

Quote: victarmeldrew "Attended last night’s meeting , I agree most contributions were informative with no punches pulled . just three topics left me with doubts on clarity , 1st don’t understand the £20000 1873expenditure and why a member of the trust was the main speaker relating to it , I am a big  fan/follower of Wakefield own but I can’t see where that amount as been invested , I know Anderson , Day and Lemming WERE on decent contracts but I wouldn’t have thought  to that extent , ( it’s now in its third year) . 2nd  the  poll on redeveloping  Belle Vue or MOVING TO Newmarket  I just wonder if those investing in the project were looking to pay us to stay at Belle Vue as a cheaper option to them. 3rdThe trust representatives presentation on increasing revenue , in my opinion it was the diehards and hardcore supporters who attended and as such will contribute as much as they can ( I have upgraded to platinum). but to me the question is in which form .should it be in ? a  share issue'"

With respect Victar I wasn't speaking about Club 1873 but urging fans to join and the meeting wasn't specifically about Club 1873.

I don't think the poll on redeveloping Belle Vue was anything other than Michael Carter trying to judge the feeling of fans. As much as we all love Belle Vue the old girl has seen better days and our future, certainly as a Super League Club, lies at Newmarket.

Other ways of raising capital was mentioned last night and we are working on these. The sale of shares was mentioned and that is indeed an option being considered but we are not there yet. Hopefully we will be in a better position in a couple of weeks or so and we will make all that known at the appropriate time.

Have to admit I was amazed at the level of loss the business has been running at under Glovers stewardship. £ 1.2 million in his first year, £ 500,000 in his second year, and £ 500,000 to date in his third year. So the total debt is £ 2.2 million.
I think Glover was in charge for 32 months, so thats a loss of approx £ 70,000 per month which is a quite staggering figure. Last night I thought I heard that of the £ 2.2 million £ 1.6 was covered by directors loans and that we do not owe the bank a penny and the Inland Revenue are paid up. It was reported last night that Glovers loan was £ 600,000, that means that the other directors have put in a cool million, so well done to Glover for finding other people to put money in. It seems that the RL have loaned additional money which is secured against houses of two of the directors. For me it seens that we have simply been paying far to much to players and for me, the addition of Kath Hetherinton will mean that players agents will not be getting away with ripping the club off anymore. Glover is obviously excellent at running WYW but players and their agents must have had a field day. I came away thinking that the new guys will not risk the survival of the club, they will not spend what we have not got, I went into the meeting wanting to know details of how and why the club had been allowed to be run in such a poor way and realised that that was a pointless exercise, we are where we are, we have people in charge who are willing to give it a go, they have done a very good thing in getting Kath H involved. So onwards and .... where ever it takes us.

It depends on what redeveloped actually means. If it was something major ala widnes I would prefer to stay at BV, but a patch up job would be pointless.

Unless a Trinity supporter wins the Euromillions when its £30m or above, Newmarket is the only option with regards to modern facilities.

With about £4-500k in potential ST sales , it seems unbelievable that there is no staff to make the phone calls , what exactly are they doing that is more important? What is Elston doing ATM ?

Lets hope kath H has a bit more business sense.

Elston brings things to the club. That's what Daddycool said and reiterated when mumblings were afoot. He also has 3, yes 3, people overseeing his work so nothing goes wrong.

I still fail to see what is more pressing right now than signing up these ST renewals?

Staff have been cut to the bone. Yes we will be addressing the situation of calling non renewals but its far easier in the short term to shout the message and just ask people to renew off their own back by simply renewing themselves
