Looks like Stanley 9's will be taking part in a prematch game on Sunday. For those of you that get down give the lads a big cheer as they will love it.

Sadly, and which I am gutted about, I will not be there as I am on the second day of my grown men play touch and pass for a day course, so don't boo the coach too much as it's not going to be me.......although he is a Cas fan.

Will give them all a big clap mate and will try and get round to your corner if they split it up.

this is a great part of RL family and humbug to those who find complaint .

2 Very hard games for me to endure this weekend.

14s away to unbeaten Castleford Panthers who looked like going 3 and 0 last weekend. And with some changes close season friend v friend for 60 minutes will make for a great battle im sure.

12s away to their local rivals Dewsbury Moor . Ive never seen us beat moor andim sure the Dewsbury lads will be confident . However Shaw X did get their 1st win of the season last week.

looking foward to another funfilled weekend.

Panthers are 3 and 0 for the season as we've been given the points for Siddal game, but that counts for nothing against Crigg. I know they are in transition and not enjoying the best of form, but you don't turn into a poor side overnight. I have the utmost respect for Lance and his players, and I'm sure it will be a very close game on Sunday - seen as we've had such an easy/soft start a014.gif icon_lol.gif - not aimed at you Mutley.

It's always a sad occasion when such a nasty injury occurs .
Maybe its about time that match officials appointed for the game could make a decision on whom they think would go on and win . Taking into account that the team as lost that player but if its been as a result of foul play then judging the offending team to of had a man sent off.

A knowledgeable Ref could maybe look at the flow , chances , kick success etc and make a common sense call.
1 home/away win
2 if the scores are tied in last quarter call a draw
3 if there is only 1 try in it replay
4 refs call

its not hard and you could have standard results.

i mainly hope the young un gets well soon

Tbh I'm a bit surprised and also a little dissapointed that siddal are appealing. Make no mistake siddal were a beaten side and long before the injury they were dropping like nine pins.there was no foul play involved in the injury the lad just slipped going into the tackle.

Either way whatever happens regards the result you after accept it.

Panthers vs Crigg tomorrow is usually a good game and I don't think it will be any different in the morning.

I think the problem arises from the lack on consistency and the fact the league has discresion.
Last season Siddal v Shaw Cross was abandoned with 5 minutes remaining and Siddal winning by 8 points,No foul play involved with the injury to the Shaw Cross lad, noting though Shaw Cross didnt have any subs,so if play had resumed they would have played out the final 5 minutes with 12 men.
The points were awarded to Siddal,Shaw Cross appealed and the fixture had to be replayed.
In my view YJL set a precedent ordering the above match to be replayed.
I would agree Siddal were looking a beaten team at the point of the injury, but who knows, they were on the Cas 20/30 with 6 tackles in the bag,the elements at their back and over a third of the game remaining.

For the record i thought Panthers looked very good and have a built on last season.
BTW The injured lad will be out for 6/8 weeks - torn cartliage.

BARLA cup: East Leeds 40 - Oulton Vikings 16. Vikings leading 16-12 10 minutes in to the 2nd half more than matching East Leeds with the rugby we played, game got away from us as their physicality proved the difference. Pleasing performance from our boys.

Well if you only saw the 2nd half you saw most of the game, 38mins, dunno how a ref manages to find 8mins of extra time in a 30min per half game especially when you only play 25 mins in the first half icon_rolleyes.gif

Good game though and 2 evenly matched teams fighting it out in the main in a sportsman like manner icon_thumb.gif
