cas don't bother me, I've never needed to go to cas town centre so can't can't comment on what that's like. Some of them seem obsessed by our City club and stadium even opposing the community stadium and rejoicing when it got called in, where as we just wished them luck. Glad I live in the City of Wakefield, proud I live in the City of Wakefield and proud to be a Wakefield Trinity supporter. Our council leader is a prick though and he's from cas.

Had a decent Aussie RL shirt stall in the indoor market a few years back at Cas.

Can't say I've ever shopped in Cas but I've worked most of my life with Cas lads who were Cas supporters,we've had our banter and I've wanted to punch them a few times, but at the end of the day we're still mates and still go out now and again.

Penrith Panthers, with Calphos on the front, still got it!

Quote: PopTart "I'm not sure there is anything wrong with never leaving your village/town/City
Personally I love to travel and see new places but I like to come home too.

If we are talking about Cas, right now they have a lot going for them.
I like shopping at the rugby stall in the market. Parking is easier than Wakefield too.
I like Xscape. Great places to eat out and plenty of entertainment, that rivals Leeds and nothing comes near in Wakefield.....and it really should, we deserve much better.
If you want the opposite end of the extreme they have a pretty good nature reserve up past Lock Lane too.

If you go shopping in Wakefield at Trinity and drive back through Sandal via Newmillerdam you'll think Wakefield is a beautiful yet modern City. If you go to the Ridings and come back via Lupset you won't.'"

Xscape is cool if you want to go skiing and go to the Cinema and grab a meal but I'm not sure what you can get there (apart from the Ski Slope) that you can't in Wakefield. Unless you're talking about it it being all in one place and Leeds haven't even got anything like Xscape. Saying that Wakefield City isn't that big where you can't got down ings Road to the Cinema than either eat there or go to one of the restaurants in town . The sad thing about the Xcscape is that it's turned the rest of the town into a bit of a ghost town that could do with some regeneration.

I'm surprised you've risen to it - tbh I was really digging at the Cas forum brigade. I was just giving them a taste of there own icon_smile.gif

Was fun at first the Cas baiting, meanwhile back on track.

In a nutshell really, I think the season ticket salea can be summed up like this.

1. State of Ground
2. Recent poor seasons prior to 2016. Need back to back good seasons to see improvements on the terraces.
3. Pricing of package.
4. Not enough Saturday and Sunday games
5. Marketing of the club.
6. Quality of the beer

I don't know what number you sold last year but with the signings you've made I'd say that was disappointing

Why.

Total myth I'm afraid.

Not one player we have signed falls into the superstar category that actually makes more people buy SL tickets - that needs to be a Thurstone or a Wally Lewis.

Your theory is even stranger considering you are backing Chester to fail an us being relegation fodder on the VT. Ditto you say Allgood is crap, think you have perception issues.

What it will do is encourage folk to pay on the day and IF we are successful especially at home then it will build season on season - the right way in other words.

I recon we could have doubled that if we'd have gone down the Hudds root but thankfully our Chairman values the product and won't initiate a policy that failed before when we sold 4000 at a loss.

1,200 is where I'd expect to be, I wish it was a lot more but I understand that the signing of players like Williams and Huby though good from a hard core fans POV will hardly set the city alight.
Funny or daftest thing is that the one players who's signing might have excited a few people is Tom Johnstone, but as we already have him and we certainly don't wish to spoil him there isn't much we can do.

If we have an even better season than last year then I think the 2017 season will be a more reliable indicator.

Yes I may well have been picky, but really apart from number 1, I think a bit of thinking, perhaps outside of the box, changes could be made to help remedy the others. Until we either get positive news regardimg Newmarket or a proper renovation for Belle Vue, issue 1 wont get resolved.

Issues 2 and 4 could be resolved with a mini season ticket, to try to entice fans back, especially if we get off to a reasonanle start and also for those with other commitments who cant make all games.

Issue 3 could be eased by reviewing the pricing of the package, but not neccesarily to the realms of the Huddersfield prices. Maybe even to include a shirt.

Issue 4 could be resolved just by a bit of better advertising and also studying if certain areas of the city dont buy into the club. If any areas are identified, get flyers into homes shops etc and get tbe community department to go round to that local school.

Finally, regarding the beer, compare suppliers prices etc. I do know of a very passionate Wakefield supporter who is a member of CAMRA. If you coud get the beer right then potentially Cats bar could be operational 7 days a week.

Off the top of me head I could name you about 40 passionate Trin fans' what are just as passionate about their beer as they are the club, whether that diminishes their entitlement to an opinion because they're not members of camra I don't know.
What I do know or at least imagine I know, is that brewers' don't brew bad beer, they don't brew quality beer for a selected few and rubbish for others. The presentation of the product is the key element here and is purely down to the publican to keep the product up to the required standard, maybe those in charge at Bellevue should look towards this and make a start with the pumps, just a thought.
