Mr Glover has already stated nothing on RLfans will persuade him from attempting to purchase the club. Hourigan i feel you're wasting your time. Unfortunately you will have to accept that there are people out there who want to make a difference to Wakefield Trinity, it's fans and the community it supports. Just as we accept that people love Castleford and want to make them into a great club.

would you throw money at WTW?? seriously, i would not put my money into Cas as ther eis NO money to be made in RL, at best you break even, so hence why i say he must have tones of money he can afford to lose otherwise why do it!! the fact WTW have historically been poorly supported and had poor revenue doesnt that tell the average person that in all probability nothign much will change, nothing like backing a flogged horse, the guy must be mental!!!

If I had the spare money ,yes course I would,just like the other owners, you don't come in to make money, you come in for the challenge and to hopefully create a great team that makes fans happy. I don't think it's hard to understand under the right circumstances and the fans will return and new ones will come, it's been poorly supported because it's suffered from bad management and under investment, all you have to do is look at a few other clubs around.

i'm not a Wakey fan (or Cas),far from it but I am a RL fan and I welcome anyone willing enough (or stupid enough ?) to want to invest his or her hard earned cash in any club - if this guy fails then so be it ! why should we,the fans worry ? there's always another potential investor around the corner hopefully.That's business baby !
At this moment in time someone is prepared to take on a venture that seems to have been badly managed over the years but maybe,just maybe this guy can turn it around.I don't think he is stupid or naiive to think it will be easy and so must have a solid business plan in mind. Lets' hope so for the sake of Wakey and all fellow RL clubs,pro or otherwise.
If you are a true RL fan you will embrace this plan with optimism ! He may well fail but the fans need to get behind him to save their club to give him at least a fighting chance.

as for being referred to as a nob by some posters, thats a little unfair - based on what exactly, the fact i have said the guy must be mad to want to bank roll WTW with his self made money? i dont think my wife would let me put any money into an RL club unless we won the euros as even 2m quid wouldnt be enough for someone in their 30's to retire on these days!!

If you earn £25k per annum, then you will live quite humbly and drive a small car. If you earn £250k per annum you might live in a big house and drive a Ferrari. If you earn £2.5m per annum - then what?

The point I am making is that it's all well and good working hard to make money, but for what - you get beyond a certain point and security is no longer an issue, so maybe, just maybe, people seek ways in which they can indulge their time and their money into something that gives them some other form of 'return' - I know I would given the chance.

These guys seem to me to fit this description rather well and seem no dfferent from most of the other Chairmen in RL. Just because we have had a Chairman for whom things didn't work out ultimately, doesn't mean that another can't make a go of it - without risking all to do so.

So unlike some on here I don't just see countless amounts of money being thrown down a drain, but rather that these guys see a value in doing what they are proposing beyond money - a community spirit; a bit of fun nay, a pleasure even. Who wouldn't want that when you can share that experience with thousands of others???

I think a few people who suddenly want to plaster this forum with their inane rambling are feeling a little shaky at their knees. They are worried what the future holds for them.

You seem to have a strange outlook on life and money.
Did you get your money returned when you paid to watch games at Wheldon Road or when following your club ?
Do you know how many fathers are out in cyberspace who have daughters ? Can they afford to lose their money or do you not think some things in life are worth more than money ?
WTW have always been at Belle Vue but that is going to change.
The flogged horse seems to have died and now the good guys have a new horse and a brand new rider.
It could be a winner.
