I'll come clean - I have never managed a rugby club. I do however know a thing or two about management - I run a management consultancy! What I see at BV is a business with a turnover smaller than all its competitors. This has been the case throughout the super league era. As a response to this some of the businesses finest assets (players) have had to be used to shore it up financially (if not in terms of transfer fees in order to reduce wage burdens).
So a business finacially at the bottom of the league, repetedly losing finest assets. This is normally a prescription for something terminal.
But the higher ups at BV have managed, over ten years, to out perform their counterpart higher ups at other clubs (who have greater turnover and better playing assets).
Consequently who they are and are not thinking of selling troubles my interlect very little because I know they have a track reccord for managing their resources excellently (not a word I use lightly). I believe our club is in the most competent of hands it has been in during my 30 years supporting the club. If they choose to sell DB or sign Gayle Tidsley I believe it will have been done by people with a track record for making decisions in the best interest of the club whilst delivering a steady upward curve of performance on the field throughout the SL era.
