| Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "What’s that foggy, if a club either directly or indirectly contacts the player or representative then they are in breach of RL rules and can be fined. If they leave then they do so because we have allowed them to do so and when was the last time we did that.
If some members of the forum who no longer attend games were to buy season tickets that would help matters. I have not been able to go but purchased a season ticket and I am sure it is the same for a diehard like you.'"
I'm not disagreeing with you regarding the illegalities of approaching contracted players, what I am alluding to and I'm not saying it has happened is that if a player/s wants to leave unless the club has proof of any wrong doings and [if I might just point out, we were find for trying to tap up Jason Robinson, can you honestly tell me that we are the only club ever to break that rule?] then it's very difficult to keep unhappy players, therefore the best option to the club is to get rid before it undermines the morale of the other players, all things being equal that in my opinion does not make us a selling club.
Seeing as you brought the matter up, I have been a die hard as you call it at Belle Vue since 1958 and the last season ticket I bought was for the 2020 season, and yes although it's the first time I've had to mention it I too refused any reimbursement like most others, and just for the record I am far from a well man myself but have managed to attend all the home games this season as I'm sure others have too, and just for the record I'll put up your quote where you told us about buying your season ticket and I said you'd mention it again, well done that's the third time since then.

| I do not blame any player who want to improve and move to what are perceived more ambitious. It is up to Wakefield to make it attractive to stay and considered a club to be associated with just like we did. I regret that certainly over the last few seasons this is not the case. I don’t blame TJ because why waste his talents trying to avoid relegation and playing in a team that has not progressed.

Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "He is under contract just like Tanginoa therefore no club can talk to either or their representatives without our permission. If either left at the end of the season we would be entitled to a transfer fee however we are suppose to no longer be a selling club.'"
Correct - he's contracted.
"May 1 marked the first day of the transfer window in Super League. This means clubs can now speak to players who are off-contract for the 2023 campaign for a potential move."

I too don't blame TJ for moving on and I doubt if you will find many that will, disappointed yes aren't we all, but he is a different issue he is free to leave at the end of the season anyway and unfortunately unless we can offer him the moon on a stick which I doubt we can we can't stop him and he's off, but the threads about a contracted player which and I quote however we are supposed to be a non selling club unquote what caused an issue was the inference that we had if true reverted back to the bad old times when we were exactly that, which I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong was an uncalled for direct dig at the club.

I think we have to be ready for some of the Tom money saved to be used to keep the likes of of Miller and Fifita.
So it might not go straight to a superstar.

Do not want a superstar just want players with a bit of quality and give 100% to the club but like Dave( who I think is just about at Legend for Wakefield ) Miller as well, Two oversee players that have give there all

I agree.
Dave was saying how many times he's had to play with pain killers to get out on the field but he keeps doing it because he doesn't want to let us down.

I really don't get the love-in with Miller. For me he's got worse over the last couple of seasons and is a major factor in why our attack has been so poor. I don't rate him as a captain either.
I'll grant you he is a trier and marginally better than Gaskell though.

| If we get relegated and the way we are at the moment we're looking like favourites all our best players will leave anyway as championship money will not pay their wages.

For me if the rumour is true and he has signed for Cas next season then you drop him and get Walker playing every game to give him a chance to show what he can do with a decent run.
He's not let us down in any game he's played so far and I think he's desperately unlucky not to have played more games than he has.

Unless we beat Leeds tonight
The Lino to Wigan rumour has been mentioned as a possibility in TV commentary on more than one occasion and, quite frankly, it's disrespectful to both Trinity and the player.
MC should be having strong words with Sky and Wells, plus anyone else who publicly tries to stir the pot.
It's bad enough when pundits suggest that our better players may do well elsewhere (as Trinity are deemed to be minnows) but to suggest that any player, by name, would help a certain club is not on.
Regardless of the rules about contracted players, there always has been and always will be a way for clubs to get in the ear of contracted players.
The thing we need most is a couple of wins, however they may come, which will take the pressure off everyone.
