We arguably have the best left edge in SL who made a mockery of Leeds last week? Only time Bill and TJ saw the ball was taking it away from our line.

Frustrating to watch. Flat footed all day. Should have changed our arm and kicked straight from the scrum for TJ to chase toward the end of the match but seemed no desire to move from one
out rugby.

Credit to KR much improved from last year and excellent defensive line.

To be fair though results like this are sometimes a blessing in disguise, id expect a big response next week and doubt you'll lose many more that your expected to win

Made some very poor decisions had enough possession but didn’t do anything with it. Obviously the weather had a massive effect but same for both sides. Didn’t play well but unlucky to lose, move on to the next game. It was a typical Wakefield Trinity home performance after a good away win, seen it so many times over the years.

Close game in tough conditions and if Tom's try in the corner had been given we would have ground out a tough win. I thought KR's defence was excellent today and they will get plenty of wins this season. I didn't come away thinking all is lost after today. Poor dropped ball from Keegan but he redeemed himself for me with the tackles he put in. Big Dave as always was superb and it was great to see Pauli back on the field. We move on and I hope it's not so ruddy cold next game as i'm still not warmed up yet. Summer rugby eh icon_biggrin.gif

CC mentioned the weather in a pre match interview so he knew it would affect our style of play but I felt we had the forwards to win it. I had hoped a win might bring a few more through the gates specially the run of home games we have but I fear not now

What concerns me at this moment is thats two poor performances, against teams we should be beating, and were only five games in.

Feel it could be a long season, and its hard to take when weve got, apparently the best squad weve ever had.

These aren't a patch on the 2017 squad in my opinion.

Although a bit early to say really, maybe things in our squad need freshening up a bit

Whichever way you look at it that’s a poor loss, HKR at home has to be marked down as a win if you’re a team that’s heading for the top 5.

I’m seriously underwhelmed by the start to the season, we’ve been heavily beaten by London conceding over 40 points, Lost to a Sts team that always struggles at BV and we’ve been kept tryless on home soil by HKR. On the flip side we’ve only beaten a misfiring Catalan who don’t travel well and lost 0-46 V Salford & we beat the worst Leeds side I’ve seen in 20 years.

This season is starting to look like a long & difficult one

Couldn't understand why the referee put Hull KR on a "team warning" and then penalised them two minutes later with no consequence.
TJ amost starved of the ball today. Any possession he had he had to go seeking for. a few more passes his way and I'm sure the points would have been ours.

I disagree with them being far too negative. The weather was atrocious and underfoot conditions too difficult to play attractive Rugby. What we were, as ever when in tight games at critical moments, was dumb. I have lost count now, the number of games we have lost in the past few years from not taking 2 points at the right time. Today EVERY TIME was the right time to take 2. I couldn't see either side scoring a try unless there was a good kick or a mistake. In the end it was a good kick AND a mistake that cost us but, for me we were very foolish not to take 2 when 4-2 up. We would have gone 6-2 up. They scored from the resulting play up field to make it 4-4. Without that passage of play, we would have gone 8-2 with the next pen and I really don't think Rovers would have recovered from that. Scoreboard pressure would probably have led to mistakes from them and at least another 2 pointer for us.
Outside of that, we really missed Ashurst and you could tell. The kicks to touch were the right tactic to try to force errors in good field positions.
So that's St Helens possibly thrown away by a dumb decision to GO for goal when we should have gone to the corner with a kick and today DEFINITELY thrown away by not going for 2 at 4-2. When on earth are we going to learn?

On Tom's disallowed try, he was convinced he had scored by the look of his remonstrations with the Touch Judge after the hooter. I'd have like to have seen that on a video ref call. Given the number of incorrect try decisions in the last few weeks on Sky games, I would not be surprised if it was a try
For me, we lost because we were once again stupid when offered 2 in trying conditions and also we did not put good kicks in on the 6th near their line; how often have we also said that in the last few years? I thought we'd have cured that when we got Broughy back but we were poor today

Quote: Egg Banjo "It's not just been today, we've been very poor in attack all season so far'"

Are you serious? We were superb v Leeds and pretty good v St Helens. To make judgements on attacking play today, I think is very unfair in such conditions
