Owen had a good start tonight, the bombs he took were tough. It went down hill a long way after that for him though. Overall though he's been ok this season.

It's unfortunate that the knock on from the drop out, and the ball was swerving in the air a fair bit, pretty much removed all the momentum Trinity had at that time and enable Wigan to finish us off. The drop out was spinning and swerving away from him. It was a brilliant drop out most players at most clubs would have dropped it.

I think those that you would expect to drop that ball should consider another career, especially if they play W/FB. A prop I could understand but it was a poor drop by a player who should be skilled in catching balls kicked to him.

Overall I think Owen (and Lyne) got found out last night as to what playing against a decent wing/centre pairing means. They were all over the place in defence.

All I can add to this rubbish is that his superstar opposite number may have scored three tries but he did knock on three times in his own 20 and was forced dead in goal twice!

Agreed Burgess might have scored 3 times but he made errors too. It's about time the Owen bashing stopped. I was critical of the 3 year deal and his attitude but he has been far from the worst player in the team in the last 2 months. Riley has been shocking in defence and looks terrified every time a big winger runs at him

He's being unfair as regards Owens mistake and his game over all - as suggested it was a ver difficult kick.

However what was worrying about Owen and what is generally symptomatic of the team was how quickly Owens performance deteriorated from that point - it went from a general good effort from Owen to schoolboy at times - Owen was a passenger for the last 20. Sadly that's not just him but how the team has been all season 10 - 20 -30 minutes in the game then bang heads go down.

Something is seriously wrong in Websters team organisation IMHO.
