At the risk of going against the tide slightly, has Mr Carter said anything about where Trinity may / will be playing next season.
Every Trinity fan shares his frustrations and annoyance with WMDC but, having served notice to quit, as it stands, we have nowhere to play next season
and therefore do we assume that he has a "plan B" or, could this be Trinity's last season ?
I know this may sound antagonistic and maybe ungrateful but, it's a reasonable question to ask.'"
Andrea is being very helpful so please can I request that we dont bombard her with e-mails.

MC hopes to make an announcement on next years venue 'within four to six weeks'.

We can play at Sharlston Rovers ground and stay in the MDC but it's hardly a realistic option. The option MC takes will be for the greater benefit of the club. Therefore, options outside the MDC may very well be of greater benefit.
We are moving out of The City of Wakefield. That's the issue!

We can now play at a stadium that is a similar distance away from BV than Newmarket would be and a bit closer than Dewsbury. Convenient that they decided to go public then i thought, very generous of them. It wasn't Fev that MC was talking about in his league weekly interview when he said there was one other team he was talking to other than Dewsbury (that he righly wouldn't reveal) and it was outside the WMDC. So i wonder why they felt the need to go public and not discuss it privately? Gives another stick to beat us with if he does take us out of the area now doesn't it? We would have voluntarily left our ground but then turned down a chance to stay within the boundary. Anybody would think they've been asked to put that statement out there. Me paranoid and suspicious? Very!'"
Nail hit firmly on the head there SC

| i have just read the same Sacred, and you bet me to the post.
It really does beggar belief.
Without being prejudiced, and targeting people, there is no wonder that the obesity levels in the country are rising.

I guess what they could do with is someone to provide some community sports facilities that could be maintained by a community trust for the benefit of the Wakefield community.
If only there was some way of doing that, maybe by getting a developer to build those facilities in return for getting planning consents approved - an S106 type agreement??

It's all part of their grand plan to turn Wakefield into the cultural hub of the North with its abundance of galleries and cafes. We'll all be partial to a cappuccino and a slice of red velvet cake, we'll be able to tell the difference between a Manet and a Monet, but we'll all be fat buggers and a burden on the NHS.

| Take offence there. I am a 'little fat bugger' who has worked all his life, never claiming a penny. The amount of tax and NI I have paid in entitles me to same health care as anyone else. Still paying tax in retirement . I could be vindictive and suggest others in society who are a burden , but will hold fire.

| Don't the RFL ever learn?
They want better standards on the pitch, which one can assume would be found by allowing expenditure on youth programmes and training facilities. Instead, they are going back to stadium criteria and crowd numbers. So those clubs with fewer fans, and presumably a lower income, have to find a way to get more fans through the turnstiles to get a bigger share of the pie. This is usually done by lowering ticket prices or season tickets. Now, which clubs tried the "lower the season ticket and get them into the ground" trick? Ah yes, Bradford and Glover's Wakefield. How did each experiment end? Ah yes, administration.

| Well said King Street Cat, though I prefer an Americano.
Going back on to the moving away, one ground fairly local, though not mentioned is Batley.
Not been for many years, but looking at the capacity, it is more than that of Dewsbury, but not as big as Featherstone. If Wikipedia is accurate on this. According to Wiki, Mount Pleasant has a capacity of 7500.
There isnt much difference in the distance between Dewsbury and Batleys ground, maybe 2 miles maximum.

I get the moving out of the city thing and we desperately need our own place and i am sure MC will do as he sees best. But the point was moving forward and what might come down to a marginal court battle. The thing Newmarket always had against it was it is hardly bang in the middle of Wakey itself. Fev have a SL standard ground (Sharlston isn't!) which is a similar distance from our current ground as Newmarket would be and remains within the WMDC boundary. As a temporary measure, providing the price is right, it would seem to be a good fit. What it does though is give ammunition in an argument who can say we don't have to leave the area but we have chosen to do so should we decide to go elsewhere outside of the wakefield boundary. But if we go to post office road then the old 'you don't really need a ground of your own now' argument will likely come from the powers that be, you can just see it coming. All these things will come into play down the line as the battle for a place of our own goes on and we could, and it's only my personal opinion, have done without it in the public domain.

From what I remember about Batleys ground, it would take more to get Mount Pleasant up to SL standard than it would Dewsbury.
For a "left field" ground, when is Sheffield's new stadium due to be ready and what kind of capacity will it be.
They may owe us a favour ? (it's a long walk from the Connie club though).

It's improved a lot and is a tidy little ground these days but it would still take some investment to get it up to standard, as would Dewsbury. I'd say it would probably cost about similar amounts so we may as well head down Owl lane given the relationship we have with them already with the dual reg deal and the academy moving there next month.

| All of the championship grounds around us would need major investment to bring them up to modern super league standards, it's sad that we'd look to invest money in another clubs ground but were unable/unwilling to invest money in our own ground. The club has been hoodwinked repeatedly and it must be quite embarrassing really
