| Quote: wrencat1873 "Why don the club actually ask the fans prior to making these decisions.
On the basis that most people have a life outside of Trinity and we have always played on Sundays (at least for the last 30 odd years).
People will obviously struggle to re arrange their lives at short notice and for those who have bought S/T's on the basis of Sunday games (apart from Sky changes), this is just another slap in the face.
For God's sake, look after your customers, there aren't too many of us left.
We lose one of our group, who works on Saturdays, plus a couple of others who play cricket (yes, I know) on Saturdays.
If there had to be an experiment, pick one of the fixtures to try it, not all of them.'"
Makes sense to me.

| I'm a season ticket holder for Barnsley FC so Saturdays would be very awkward for me. The move to Dewsbury would probably make my mind up as to which team takes precedence.

| Many of the few remaining Wakefield supporters I know are also stalwart supporters of the local amateur game which, guess what, play on Saturday afternoons.
If this becomes the norm then these said people, myself included, could well have to choose between the two. When it involves family members playing the amateur game then I know where many loyalties will lie again to the detriment of Wakey's crowds.

| Perhaps it will be more convenient for Dewsbury if we play on Saturdays next season?

| Its all supposition but if we do end up in a ground share next year, be it Dewsbury, Hunslet, Fev or wherever, there will inevitably be some weekends when both clubs might need to play at home. It therefore makes sense that MC would gauge interest in Saturday fixtures both by staging a couple of games on Saturdays but doubtless by watching the comments on social media.

| I would say he has considered this very carefully because his ultimate goal is to switch our games to a Saturday probably because it suits our landlords. If you are trying to prove Saturday's generate more interest than Sunday's which three games would you choose. I would expect the fact it is the play offs would naturally increase the attendance with both the home and away supporters compared with the non fixtures of the last few months.

| Its because any reason that can be found to paint the picture that our club plays second fiddle will be explored. Its tosh, Dews don't play at home every sunday its every other sunday. I

How would you split the revenue if each match was a double header ?
Having said that Dewsbury will only use the ground every other Sunday and it cant be too difficult for the fixture planners to sort.

Yes. That's exactly why they are exploring the Saturday option, in order to make us look second fiddle...

| Trnity HC what are you talking about. If the move to Dews comes off the Sunday fixtures would be easy to arrange, every other week when dews are not playing at home. We could even throw a Friday night game in now and again, infact I would prefer home games to be played on a Friday.
It would be interesting to see what kind of response the club would get from Sat fixtures , if the gates increase you could hardly blame the club for changing or exploring the possibility of playing Sat.
Whats the big problem

| FTR, the reason for playing Saturday's in the middle 8 is that BS requested at least 6 days between games and the only way to do so was to play on Saturdays.
MC is only too aware that there would be some who would disapprove, but their inconvenience is nothing compared to the significance of our wish to compete to our highest level in these games and be in SL next year.
There is nothing more behind this than a Rugby decision.

Not true going by the quote by Carter himself.

I've missed something then.
Tbf, I was talking to him about this season and that is the reason for the Saturday games now!

It's part of the reason, not the only one, he quoted although it makes no difference, it would have been 6 or 7 days whether it was saturday or sunday. We have actually shortened the gap before the widnes game at home by doing it. The other is a trial. The quote on wednesday was...
[iChairman, Michael Carter has spoken about the choice of Saturday games, explaining, “We have chosen Saturday fixtures for two reasons. The first is that we want to have a minimum of a six day turnaround if not seven days between our fixtures. This will be extremely beneficial to get the best out of our team over the seven rounds. Secondly, is to get an appetite of how popular Saturday fixtures will be for the future purposes.”[/i
