I know it wasn't great to see a lead like that clawed back but I don't see it as switching off or lack of effort. I'm pretty sure our guys would have preferred a 0-60 final result.

It's simply the ebb and flow of the game and how you handle it.

We started well. They gradually fixed some issues and plated better. We learned how to handle it and played better than they did.

It could easily have been try for try through to 26-26 and then we pull away. No one would have said lack of effort then but it's the same number of tries scored and the same plays.

I'm glad we handled their best and beat them convincingly. That is what happened.

Isn't this the line tripped out week after week, season after season, by beaten opposion coaches? d040.gif

And the less said about Dolly Parton the better icon_eek.gif If that's the best tribute act in Leigh, Jesus. Well done lads, great 2 points eusa_clap.gif But please think about my Heart and nerves in the future. icon_thumb.gif

Seeing as attendance as been mentioned, I hope if, and I say if, we get a shiny new stadium we get more bums on seats than what was there yesterday icon_rolleyes.gif

An accurate summing up, in my opinion. So much goes with possession. Repeat sets (either through good kicks, penalties, or errors) are a killer. We (Leigh) rarely create those repeat sets and therefore don't mount serious pressure the way you have done in our two meetings.

Quote: kinleycat "Three head injuries/concussion assessments in one game.
Says it all.'"

If I may join in the furore about concussion assessments - we also had a concussion assessment yesterday. We had three at Saints last week, and a fourth player missing yesterday because of a facial injury sustained at Saints. We had 3, or 4 concussion assessments at Salford on Good Friday. (they had a couple too) Are Saints and Salford as 'dirty as us? On the basis of assessments, yes - but I wouldn't dream of suggesting they are 'dirty'.

FWIW, I think Tony Smith has summed it up well. He reckons that the collision nature of our Sport is becoming too high risk, and that something has to be done to reduce that risk. I don't think relegating Leigh (Smith's comments were LAST season when we weren't in SL) or Saints and Salford ( icon_wink.gif ) will solve the problem!

Would they happen to be French trenches Vasty. If so we may be ok.

I dont have the monopoly and dont claim to. I know a few fans get frustrated amd enjoyment at the same time with us.

My main point was if we could cut this out or reduce it we would be in an even better position. The league is getting tighter season on season and at some point this could go against us.

At the end of the day though, this is a fans forum to air views ans debate them and we all have a right to speak and have an opinion and especially for those like me who pay a lot of money each year for a season ticket

We won, and in the end comfortably. Lets move on to Dewsbury and MW.

You could also add Hull and Wigan as could have/should have won, conversely you could also say we could have/should have lost to Saints, Leigh, and Salford, frustration is part and parcel of being a Wakefield fan you should know that now.'"

FFS. What is this? The Gestapo? Repeat after me: "you can only post if you are positive" (x3). Who determines what is positive? Is there a positivity scale? People have a right to express any opinion positive/negative.

P.s throwing an offload in our own ten, dropping the ball, not putting the ball dead and conceding another 2 penalties and another try after going 20-0 up is ing dumb and nothing wrong with saying that. But also, know what was great? That the lads stuck in there and had the minerals to grab their and battle back into it when they could have shirked it when Leigh were in front.

Well dome boys.

It was certainly frustrating. Some of the errors were farcical. If that Drinkwater "try" had been given, and the reaction of the Leigh fans suggests that it was a close call, maybe game over. Did well to come back though and I can't fault them for that. I'll have a disjointed performance and a win any day, as it suggests that when we have a decent performance, we win.

As for Leigh, I can't see them going well. I don't think at any point they built any pressure as everything they got was from an error or penalty. There was no territorial ebb and flow. To play at home against a team playing as dumb as we did at times and concede 40 points should worry them.

I agree. That was as bad as I've seen us play this year. Leigh were pish.

I'd just love to know who this mythical team is that we expect to lay down and die. Of course Leigh were going to come back, we do or are we the only ones entitled?

Yes we helped them a bit but credit to them they played well for a while, why wouldn't they.

Personally I don't get the need to comment half way through a game - whats the point - take a game at any given point and it will look entirely different to the final outcome. Thats why you end up looking silly. RL is highly unpredictable, especially this year and we are one of the main reasons and long may it continue. Also a bit of loyalty wouldn't go a miss.

Very few sides put together 1 80 minute performance let alone a succession that would warrant consistency.
I'm happy where we are, yes we make a lot of mistakes at crucial times, but there are sides with much higher salary cap spends than us that also make the same/similar mistakes.
When it doesn't frustrate and get you in the guts it's time to pack in.
Keep on being passionate and as the old adage goes - aim for the stars and maybe you will reach the moon.

After letting the dust settle, after a great spectacle of 2 teams desperate for the win and 2 points for different reasons,

Firstly enjoyed the Leigh experience, nice stadium, good facilities outside ground, they are putting in the effort for local community, Wakefield Council take note!!!!!

To the game, great start, Leigh were only ever in that game due to silly errors, Finn was OUTSTANDING!! Fafita, Kirmond, Topu, Huby standouts, Leigh threw it away letting their adrenaline get the better of their heads when they fought back. They tried to bully and thug the last quarter of game but it backfired, our backs were to quick at times

Arona had a stinker, but to his credit took in some hard carrys in last 20 mins along with Huby when needed,
Our very weak area was the high ball onto arundle and MCB wing to which they were aweful, on 5th play Hampshire spotted it and they had us over a barrel identifing our real only stand out weakness, that needs to be worked on or we will be punished more in that area by better teams

We showed good fitness in a very physical game to be the strongest side by far at 75 mins

Can't wait for magic, as Wigan have Warrington , we beat Widnes results go our way 5 place is ours.

Well done to all 17 of team for great effort, this was big win. Finally well done to all that travelled, great voice alway through the game, we out sang the Leigh!!! Quality support for those who travelled, great Sat night.

One of the main reasons we got back on track in the second half was Liam Finn, superb throughout but steadied the ship when momentum went back our way. Great player to have in your squad, two more points towards a top six place, onwards and upwards! #positive icon_smile.gif
