| Quote: TRB "I asked people to stay strong earlier this summer when all the debate about sharing stadia was ongoing - and we came out of that OK.
From what I have heard we have had a tremendous week (I hope one of my cohorts will back me up on this). We can only go as fast as the system allows, but that is exactly what we are doing with regard to the stadium.
Having been at the game today, I am as frustrated as anyone at the lack of application shown by our side. I am also very aware of the difficulties we are having with recruitment - but it's not the first time we've been bargain hunting - and we all said that Moore / Bibey / Golden / Blaymire were poor signings, yet we did OK with them. Remember, a good recipe is more than just the ingredients!
But, I am also aware that a change in our status on the ground, [ii.e. getting OPP, WILL make a [/i[i]]massive difference to how we are viewed by all [/i- including potential players & coaches (if needed). Therefore I still maintain that this is the ONLY chance we have of moving forward and therefore progress in this area has to be a SIGNIFICANT POSITIVE towards our future - even if we are all down because of what happened on the pitch today.
Stay Strong!
Not sure it will, Phil. The vast amount of negativity and cynicism towards Wakefield Trinity from the RL community will only be assuaged by the laying of bricks at Newmarket.

Ultimately - but no-one gave us much hope of getting to this stage, with a fully funded package, this quick. With OPP we can then move directly to the detailed submission and so on...
I take your point, but this is being persued on many levels with the turn-key event being the PP.

| I think people need to be realistic. We are not a big club, but the three players we lost this season would have affected any club in Super League, let alone Wakefield. It's impossible to get like for like replacements half way through a campaign. We've had one top eight finish, and everyone now expects this to be a minumum benchmark. John Kear is the best coach this club has had for over 20 years, and has had one bad half season and now everyone wants rid. If he were to go, I don't think we'd be get anyone with a better track record wanting to come to Wakefield.

| what gets me about king john is, the way things are going he might not get another job in sl just like cullen, harrison, powell and be looking in from the sides. do yourself a favour and walk away now before you destroy your chances of a job and we end up stuck with .

He's nailed on for the Cas job when Matterson leaves. He's been told by Dicky Wrong, all he has to do his make sure Wakey are crap until the next round of franchises are dished out, making us the certainty to get kicked out, and the jobs his.

| Slightly O/T but I can't believe that Cas are still favourites with Hills to be kicked out. Do the bookies have some inside info that we don't?

Please not that old chestnut again. Name me someone who could do a worse job then what Kear is doing now (not what he did last season or seasons before that)

I don't want Kear to go, so I have no need. But if you want him out, who would you propose to replace him?

DARYL POWELL. give him a chance, he transformed everything at fev.the players mentality, the juniors.the whole club is now run professionally.the players go do their own extras. this man imo would be a breath of fresh air for this club. why do you want him to stay on what grounds

And Powell was, in my opinion, doing a decent job a Leeds before he left. However, I feel Kear has improved the side each season he has been here, with the exception of the second half of this year. But I do feel that the players we lost were out of his control and with them back in the side we would be transformed immediately. He couldn't replace them with adequate replacements this season, and with his track record he at least deserves another season.
It was only a few months ago we were all begging him not the take the England job. He hasn't become a bad coach over night.
